This Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a good place to get a great meal. I did find some of the steamed broccoli a bit “soggy” but otherwise delicious. My lemon peppered fish plate was good. Maybe a bit “fishy tasting”. I know it is fish but in past experiences, this has not been the case. Our waitress, Jocelyn was the best ever!! She waited on us frequently to see if we needed anything. I also had a great view of the fireplace. Very well decorated.

Beyond disappointed. The food was disgusting. Fried pickles were burnt. The cornbread was so cold that the butter would not melt. The fries were hard and cold. The chicken tenders were dry. The pintos had been microwaved and the turnip greens were cold. Mac and cheese had a foreign object in it and the catfish smelled awful and the color was all wrong. Huge waste of time and money. The server noticed that we did not eat our food and he apologized. He explained that he didn’t want to bother the manager because she was already stressed due to the sycamore view location closing. The managers need to worry about keeping this location open

We recently placed a catering order for my mom’s birthday. Upon arrival to our 5 pm pickup we mobile check in for curbside. After waiting outside for 15 min we finally decide to go in. They can’t find our order or the order information in the system. The clerk finally realized she needs to look under catering and they were able to find the order information but they had not made any part of the order. They start to make our order while we were there and they didn’t take the time to prepare it like a catering order is typically prepared. It usually comes packaged well in a nice box with utensils and what not. It was haphazardly packed in bags and the biscuits were placed under the green beans. We get home an hour later than expected (we waited an hour for the food in total) and when unpacking everything come to find out we have soggy biscuits. It was a bad experience and the staff did nothing to help make the situation right. Taking a few extra minutes to pack everything correctly would have been better than coming home to more disappointment.

Okay. Let’s start from the beginning of what we thought would be a great breakfast. We checked in at the podium as was told it would be an estimated 15-minute wait so we go outside to the classic rocking chairs and chill. 20 minutes later, we go back inside for a seating update. We’re told that right after we checked in, the staff had a “kitchen issue” & was told to tell any guests that it would be 30-45 minute wait time. Huh?? We’d already waited 20 so okay. About 15 minutes later, we’re finally seated. Looking around, we notice the empty tables and the multiple servers that were standing around and we conclude that whatever the issue was had nothing to do with waitstaff shortage. Our server with her 4 stars on her apron (that part becomes significant later) finally approached after about 5 minutes. She gets our beverage orders then returns without 1 of them requested items. She gets our meal requests. Then about 12 minutes later, she comes back with part of our food which included scrambled eggs that looked like they were from yesterday. We sent them back with hopes that the fresh eggs (picture enclosed) would accompany the rest of our food and the last of our beverage order. The food came but had to remind about the water again. My pancakes were rubbery and tough to cut. My bacon was limp and only partially cooked. My sugar ham was dry and tough. Only my hash brown casserole was worth eating. My husband asked to speak with a manager who “listened” to our issues and seemed alarmed that this particular server had so many issues. Hmm. Okay. He apologized for the kitchen issues and left. Our server came to check on us and told us that the manager had adjusted our check. Whenever it was time to leave, our server brought out the folded unadjusted check which my husband gave back to her with the question about the adjustment. She took that check away and came back with the adjusted check. She’d only come by our table these 2 times since bringing the food. We’d gotten help from other personnel in between. We left a generous tip because: 1. I had worked in the industry before and knew that not all meal.ossues were that of the server 2. The server did take our order and bring our food.
Recalling all of the recent issues with this brand and reconciling this encounter against it says to us that there is a disconnect between what the brand’s image was and what is needed to sustain for tomorrow. No way should there be “kitchen” issues on a Sunday morning that have a half empty dining room and wait times of almost 45 minutes.

Received wrong items on my order. One person in our party didn’t get her food until the rest of us were done eating. The server seemed flustered. Blamed it on the kitchen staff being new.

$5 take home meals were not available, per the server but later found out from management they were. Got 2 of them are they are such small portions it’s ridiculous.
I attached a picture showing the amount of Mac n cheese you get in the take home meal. It wasn’t even enough to fill this small 2oz ramekin. If you’re gonna advertise “take home meal” at least provide a few bites of the food.
I added broccoli and bread to make this a meal.

Our waiter was very nice and energetic. I ordered pecan pancakes and plain pancakes were brought out, so I had to eat my eggs that weren’t scrambled with cheese as requested, before they got cold. I like to eat my pancakes with my eggs but I had to wait. The bacon my kid ordered was not done. I didnt like the fact that he just didn’t bring us another order of well done bacon instead he had me to get the bacon that was on her plate take it back to the kitchen to cook it? Like that was very unsanitary. He could’ve just brought out new food, and threw what we had away. I knew it was ours because she had whip cream on the edge of it and it was still there. I mean did he go back and cook it himself with no gloves? Disgusting… Not sure we will return but it was nice to have family time, we hadn’t been since the one on Sycamore view closed.

We were in town visiting family and decided to eat here. What a great choice for dinner. Meka was absolutely amazing! The food was fresh and delicious. Fish on Friday’s is an excellent choice with peach tea. We will definitely be back.

Very convenient to our hotel. No wait to be seated. Our food was good, once we got it. Drink refills came when we were almost done eating.
This was not a typical stop at Cracker Barrel. Our server was preoccupied with an eight top. We will try again if we are in the area.

This has been the strangest visit to any Cracker Barrel location I’ve ever had. I came around 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. There were only about 20 cars in the parking lot. Not busy by any stretch. I walked in to a line waiting at the host counter. There were 2 hostesses. The couple in front of me seemed to have been waiting for some time because the gentleman of the two, was getting increasingly frustrated at not sitting yet.
When I told the hostess, “Table for one,” she grabbed 2 menus, and a stack of about 20 napkins or more and led me to my table. She picked a small table that seemed to stick out in the walkway near the kitchen. It was a very awkward seating placement based on the fact that only 2 other tables in the section were occupied.
I waited about 14 minutes for anyone to come check on me. I was ready to order when they did. I ordered and waited 27 minutes for my meal. Had a grandpas country fried.
It was horrible. The oil on the fried steak tasted so old and burnt. The eggs had a strange film over them. The pancakes were hard on one side. When my food was brought out, I noticed my hash brown casserole was missing so I let the server know. He said he would check on it and never came back.
To top it all off, this server seemed to be making eyes at me when I gave no indication that I was interested. In fact, once I noticed this, I made greater efforts to avoid looking his way.
Everyone seemed confused by their being at work. No one moved with certainty. Everyone was making small pointless mistakes. Honestly, to me, it seemed like someone had died, and everyone working just got the news. I hope this was not the case, if it was, my condolences.
