I’ve seen Crab Pot from the road and wondered about it. The friend I was with had been and said it was good. We got hushpuppies and crab balls to start. Holy material! The crab balls were amazing. Get a crab cake or crab balls at this joint. Hushpuppies were good too. I got the oyster Po Boy. It was chocked full of oysters! Slaw was good and on the sweeter side. Beachy vibe and atmosphere for sure. They have inside dining, outside dining and in the bar music and a definite good time. The service was… ok. It was 8 when we got there and the kitchen evidently closes at 9. I felt like we were putting our server out a bit. But… maybe they were having a bad day. It happens. I definitely recommend going without a doubt

Been here twice because my significant other couldn’t get enough of the steamer bucket and hush puppies. There are enough hush puppies for 3 people. Each piece is as large as a donut hole. They are came out nice and hot, a touch greasy but so good. I personally like more cornmeal in mine. I’ll update my review with a picture of them the next time we go. Lol

The steamer bucket has a good mix of shrimp, sausage and potatoes. I would like more oysters and clams, though. The picture is of one bucket.

The cheesy crab fries were not bad. Fries were crispy. I couldn’t get enough of the sauce. If I order them again, I’ll ask for more sauce.

Server and bartender were very attentive and came around frequently enough to top off our drinks and ask if we needed anything else.

Best seafood I’ve had in the are in a long time. The fried shrimp was deveined, butterflied , fresh off the boat and crispy! Service was fast and friendly. A hidden gem!

A nice, quiet, and little quaint restaurant that has fairly easy access considering it’s just over the bridge on the island. My wife and I have stopped here a few times with just her and myself and a couple of times with a large group. Kind hip little joint with a fairly easy menu that doesn’t overpower you with too many options other than the seafood. From the crab pots to the fish and chips or kids baskets they have all been good. If you stop in, make sure you try the “Crab Pot Punch” drink. It has a good kick to it.

We were almost scared away due to negative reviews, but thankfully our experience was all positive!
We were told it would be about an hour for a table but were seated within 30mins. The restaurant’s inside is rustic and not air conditioned so if you’re looking for a fine dining experience this is not the place for you. However, the rustic feel felt authentic and I personally loved it, there are multiple fans constantly going so in the evening times it is comfortable inside the restaurant.

We ordered appetizers and they came out within 5-10 mins, our food came out within half an hour. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. Pictured are the crab balls, fish and chips, hush puppies, and steamer bucket with added crawdads. The fresh seafood options can be pricey, but that is to be expected. If you want cheap seafood go to captain D’s.

Overall positive experience and will be back in the future.

Food is really good, all local, and fresh. Staff is super friendly and very personable. Inviting atmosphere: definitely a “come as you are” spot for locals and anyone in the area. Overall great place to stop by for some fun on a day out and about. :))

Initially, a group of approximately 10 of us arrived without a reservation and were seated in a timely manner. The server provided exceptional service, and I regret not recalling his name – his distinctive mustache is memorable. The overall vibe was superb, featuring delicious food and drinks. Truthfully, given the last-minute nature of our visit with a large group, the experience was nearly flawless.

Definitely enjoyed the food our party if 12 ordered. Yes there is no AC but the fans did a good job keeping us comfortable. The fried items, shrimp, fish, clams, oysters, calamari and scallops were lightly breaded and fried crispy, not greasy and still juicy. Even the fried zucchini, sweet potatoes, and regular fries were tasty and crisp! Baked items cooked just right and seasoned wonderful. All the food was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The appetizers were worth the money and in some cases way to big to finish. Our server was an friendly college student who always made sure we had enough drinks and checked on us just at the right times. Yes they did add a 15% tip to all our orders but she definitely deserved every $ and more!
Some people say they had a bad experience here…. We did not. Well worth the & we spent and the 25mins we waited t9 be seated. If you near Topsail Island/Surf City check this place out.

Oooohhhh my!!!!! Down south there’s a saying when something is absolutely delicious…”slap your mama good”. I have experienced it now!!! Sorry mom, better duck!!!

The outside was cute and provided seating for waiting customers. They’re was a bar with music and plenty of dancing room. Inside, had an eclectic beachy vibe. There’s are funny little signs everywhere, including the bathroom doors.

Now to the good stuff and boy was it good! The service and food were OVER THETOP. The staff was so friendly, attentive and even suggested items on the menu since we were new. The mixed drinks was very good and not overly strong but not too weak. Mom had the frozen margarita and I had the peached whale. Yum!!

There were 4 of us so we got 2 frogmore stews (crab pots) for 2. It was $75 for each stew but had a surprising amount of goodies in it. If you think about it, $37.50 for each person for all that seafood, it’s not bad process at all. There was 2 big clusters of crab (not tiny legs either!), oysters, clams, shrimp, andoulle sausage, red potatoes and corn cobs. Everything was cooked to perfection. Each item had it’s own flavor identity. The corn was sweet. The shrimp was buttery with that old bay touch. The sausage… no words…I’m telling you, it was to die for! This was the best meal I’ve had in years! It doesn’t get any fresher than this since the seafood market, which brings the catch on daily, is on the property. We will definitely be back to this gem!!

As I tell my husband after a very satisfying meal, “My belly has a happy!”
