An absolute must-visit in Boone — especially for anyone who’s gluten-free!
Coyote Kitchen completely blew me away — everything on the menu is gluten-free, even all of their desserts! They also have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, which is such a rare and wonderful find. Their menu is huge with so many creative options, and every dish I’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It’s the kind of place that makes eating out fun again when you have food sensitivities. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the food is delicious. Definitely one of my top spots in Boone!

Let me start by saying Coyote Kitchen has been my favorite restaurant in Boone for the past 15 years. However, I have noticed over the past few years the taste and quality of the food is no longer the same. The salmon on the Coronado was NOT fresh. It almost appeared as though it came from a can. The cranberry salsa was straight from a can. I couldn’t find the rice it was so sparse. I was very disappointed with my meal and was unable to complete it.

The service was great and my lunch was served quickly. I enjoyed the Cuban pork platter.

This place came highly recommended so I am sure that many people have had great experiences but I felt the need to share ours. We haven’t had this bad of a dining experience in a very long time.

First off it was about a 35 minute wait on a Saturday, not horrible. But when we were sat we were only handed one menu for the four of us. I had to look up the kids menu and drinks on my phone since they weren’t included on the one menu. It took another 15 minutes for the server to come over.

He said sorry, and obviously we were ready to put in our entire order including an appetizer so we did. He delivered drinks and we never saw him again. Another waitress delivered our food before our appetizer. Guy came back, apologized for the wait and we had to tell him that we never got our app. He then went to the back and came out 10-15 mins later with them. First of all, how long do nachos take to put together? At that point we were done eating.

After we were finished we sat around for at least ten minutes without seeing him again trying to pay the bill and leave. Just and all around horrible experience.

We also sat in the back area which is cut off from the main bar and dining area, I wouldn’t do that again. The food wasn’t bad, we all enjoyed ours. It was the service.

Lovely establishment. I ordered the pineapple burger and it was great! The burger itself was alright but all the toppings were what made me enjoy it so much. The sweet potato fries were tasty, seasoned nicely. The bowls and boats looked delicious, I’d love to come back and try them. The triple chocolate cake was delicious, i didn’t expect a vegan dessert to taste so good but I was very pleased with it. They are very accommodating to food restrictions, most if not all the menu items were vegan or gluten free. Menu is long, plenty of options to choose from. Staff was very kind and the space was cute and clean. Would come back!

We returned to the Coyote Kitchen this ski trip after thoroughly enjoying the food and service a year ago. We dined twice. Both times were less inspiring than last year. The first night we had two Vegan bowls, side order of sweet potato fries, two cups of soup and the chocolate cake. The bowls were good, but not as memorable as last year. The sweet potato fries had many bits and pieces and was a small side, not an appitizer. The soup, especially the onion was quite bland and uninspiring. The chocolate cake was a 5 out of 10. The second night we had a full order of sweet potato fries and it was much better. I had the black bean burger, which was okay, and the same went for my wife’s salad. I think we’ll try again next year, hoping for better food. The service was great.

Service was good, unusual menu items, colorful, tons of gluten free options, some items we loved, like the wings and coyote pups, others were ok like the burger had a cold gf bun and patty wasn’t very warm, tacos were good. We would try it again. Didnt try the cake but they had a few gluten free cakes to try. Thanks!

The food is really good and the sauces are amazing, but both times my burrito lacked actual protein. I barely received any jerk chicken in either one. Instead I ended with a lot of rice and veggies that came in it. It was basically eating a vegetarian dish. The wings we ordered were saucy the first go around, but the second time they didn’t have anything on them so we had to doctor them up with sauces that we bought for me to use on my burrito. The sauces are expensive for the smallest size. By the time you add sauces, you could easily order another small meal or appetizer.

The first two times we came in to eat the hostess each time was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Not sure what was going on, but at least our waitress each time was good. Maybe next time things will be different when we decide to come back to Boone.

This restaurant was wonderful! Despite there being some mishaps and delayed service (our party was quite large) we were very understanding due to the circumstances, also keeping in mind we had arrived slightly prior to our reservation.

The staff explained that due to fire codes, we could not rearrange the tables. This is completely understandable, although something to keep in mind just in case there are many young kids (our party consisted of many adults).

In addition, the restaurant was overall busy with others seated in the main dining area. I was sure to pay attention to the fact that although it was one server (I forget her name, but she did a wonderful job) taking care of all of us. In addition, the other servers (also wonderful hard working ladies) were helping when they could. In addition, someone in our party has Celiac and they accompanied her dietary restrictions wonderfully.

Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant for weekday dinners, small gatherings, or family get-togethers alike. Just keep in mind that servers and those running restaurants are human, and you will love your food and time at Coyote Kitchen.

Thank you to the staff, our family will be back!
