Bumped into this place from Mammoth Lakes to Pasadena, looking it up on google. I didn’t like driving 15 minutes into this place…. feels so odd…cause you feel like you’re in the hills have eyes…anyhow, place is in the middle of nowhere.

Sort of like in the middle of nowhere is the restaurant. They have a gift shop too, which is cool. The food was good and a little esoteric. I had an elk burger, which was nicely charbroiled.
Definitely a place to discover in the middle of the desert.
I would have given 5 stars for the atmosphere, if not for the fact they had Fox News on. That’s petty from me, but I can’t stand that stuff as it makes people dumber.

Such a great little spot in the middle of the desert. The food is unique and delicious—I had the elk burger, and it was perfectly charbroiled. I’ve also tried the country fried steak on another visit, and it hit the spot. There’s even a gift shop, which adds a fun touch.
The staff is warm and welcoming, and the whole place has a cozy, relaxed vibe. I come to California City occasionally for work, and stopping here is always something I look forward to. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.

Such a nice small gem in California City, I come to the city every now and then to work but stopping by here is always a highlight. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and the food hits just right. Especially the country fried steak!

Super cute Cafe with a really comfy atmosphere. Brought my family over for breakfast and the service was quite fast. The portions are quite large and everything tasted great. Highly recommend the sausage biscuits and gravy. Only thing I wish I saw on the menu was Eggs Benedict and if the owner sees this I hope they add it
