Stopped by for dinner and certainly enjoyed the atmosphere and nice staff. I ordered the Grilled Catfish with French Fries, which also comes with a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was fresh and neat, with a great selection and plenty of dressings to choose from. The Catfish was flaky and tender, and the fries were great. They give plenty of cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and ketchup (or catsup). You can pay cash or credit card. Be sure to tip.

Great service, and Great Food! I highly recommend the Texas sized chicken fried steak! I like that the salad bar comes with the dinners and you make your own plate! My baked potato was delicious even without the butter!

We were expecting a delicious small town diner breakfast. We were sorely disappointed. The atmosphere was dull, our server actually sat down to eat his own breakfast while our food was getting cold on the sill, and it looked like they used regular whole wheat sandwich bread for the French toast. Definitely not a spot we will be returning too.

Cow Palace was exactly what you would expect from down home cooking. Good, fresh and fast! They were fast to get our order (which was correct the first time), bring drinks (fresh yummy sweet tea), and as I sat there looking at the horses in the field across the street they made very good food. Friendly wait staff! Seems to be a local hang out for the people to go grab a quick bite and catch up too. The food was so good, I forgot to get a picture! The plates were fresh, eggs, bacon, toast. Bacon was that good thick that you want more of. I will be heading back there again soon!

Great home-style cooking if you’re driving through Gonzales and looking for somewhere to grab a bite. It is not fancy by any means but they serve up some delicious food. The restaurant is full of regulars so if you’re from out of town you may get a few stares across the room but the food and service are amazing. My burger was expertly prepared and so tasty. The kids loved the Mac n cheese. Overall, a solid restaurant for a great meal and delicious comfort food.

This place has the Best steak finger plate!!! 4 huge crispy pieces and home cut fries. Delicious. BUT! It Also comes with a salad bar trip!! $12!! I bring my whole crew in there when we are in the area from San Antonio. Love it!!

Just had lunch here. The chill cheese fries were the best I have had since the one in California. My husband had the taco salad and he said it was delicious. My son had the bacon burger. There burgers are big and delicious. Even though they were super busy the food came out fast. They waitress was super efficient and friendly. Will definitely go back. If you are in Gonzales it is a must try. Highly recommend.
