FEATURING THE FINEST LOCAL INGREDIENTS PREPARED SIMPLY AND THOUGHTFULLY It’s better than an oceanfront view – it’s ON the water! Enjoy fine Maine dining as you sit in the restaurant…on the dock! One of only a few restaurants and art galleries in Maine accessible ONLY by boat. Once an operating fishing dock, its’s been converted into a restaurant and fine art gallery and has been in operation for more than 25 years! The new owners have raised the floor and expanded the bar in order to offer more seating, and even better sunset views. The only thing better than the art and the view, is the food. Come check it out!

This place just nails it. Great views, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful service and very well prepared and presented food! The blueberry crumble dessert was awesome. Nice beer and wine selections with a full bar. We had mussels that were in a nice sauce with great flavor. Scallops, halibut, ribs and the squash entree dish were top notch. Everyone enjoyed their meals! About two hours from start to end without being rushed at all. Here is a tip: Go extra early and walk around the island. There are plenty of nice beach walking opportunities.

Isleford Dock Restaurant was our favorite Dinning stop on our Acadia Trip. Just amazing.

You arrive by boat to a small island with almost no one around. You get about 3 hours on the island before the next ferry arrives to eat and explore.

The restaurant is next to the ferry pier on one side, and a great museum on the history of the area on the other.

You eat overlooking the water and all the lobster boats. It’s homey, beautifully decorated, and feels like a locals bar with definitely not just bar food.

Our meal was elevated, delicious, and worth the price. We tried the lazy lobster and the oysters from about a mile from the restaurant. Tastiest meal we had in Acadia.

And after eating you can walk the island until your ferry arrives, then you are on your way!

Highly recommend checking out the small island Maine experience!

Islesford Dock is a true island treasure. The food is fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious — you can tell it’s prepared with real skill. The service is warm and welcoming, and the views of the harbor make the atmosphere unforgettable. A perfect Maine dining experience!

Islesford Dock Restaurant has incredible food with impeccable service and a stellar atmosphere. Our fish and chips was the tastiest I have ever had and the portion size was more than generous. Our server, Adam, was so attentive and friendly. An absolute must visit on the Cranberry Islands!

I’ve photographed a few weddings at Islesford Dock Restaurant and it never disappoints. It’s a short boat ride from MDI, providing guests with a little bit of an adventure, and the sunsets are out of this world. The light that pours into the restaurant’s windows at golden hour is magical! ig @katecrabtreephoto

We made reservations 48hrs in advance as they charge $30 pp for no shows. Yes, requires credit card for reservation. Arrived at 3:10, checked in with hostess who said our table was reserved for 3:30. Went in at 3:30, hostess said our table was given to another party because we didn’t take the table at 3:10, but waited until our reservation time of 3:30. Our reserved table stayed empty while we ate at a different less pleasant one without a view right behind hostess desk (busy area). Plenty of lobsters in Maine don’t recommend the hassle of this place.

We visited on a Tuesday morning in mid-June 2025.

We arrived via the Sea Princess Cruise ship on the 9:30AM cruise. We did walk by the restaurant but we didn’t think it was open this early in the morning. The park rangers told us how this restaurant was the inspiration for the Krusty Krab from SpongeBob and that was probably one of the coolest things. It certainly looks like it as well.

We didn’t actually buy or eat anything here but wanted to post about how cool it was to even see the restaurant on our trip that inspired such an iconic thing in children’s television. We took a bunch of pictures.

It’s our understanding that this just reopened under new ownership (or perhaps just for the season) and as such it’s likely to hit normal just starting up snags we heard from others but our experience was quite pleasant.

Lobster poutine was fun and amazing. The lobster rolls had fantastic fresh lobster and our only feedback is that the roll really needed to be buttered and then grilled instead of dry grilled to make the entire thing magnificent.

Service was great at the bar and the drinks were well sized and worth the money. We would definitely visit again.

Food was outstanding other than Clam Chowder very runny and water. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We made dinner reservations weeks ahead. When we arrived early for reservation of 5 people. Restaurant had several tables by the windows with a view of the Sunset which is the very reason we came to the restaurant. The two young ladies at the hostess booth were rude, ignored us upon arrival, no one in front of line and told us on 2 occasions we could not sit at the open tables with a view, 1 of the tables was never filled and the other 1.5 hrs after we arrived and after our reservation. The management should take notice who is welcoming the customers to the restaurant, the rudeness is unacceptable for customer service.

Great spot right on the dock of Little Cranberry Island. The staff was smiling and attentive. Our waiter also said they put them up in nice housing for the summer work season which is amazing for servers and restaurant staff!!
The food was so fresh and full of flavor. The lobster was large and actually market price – tasted fresh off the boat! It came with a seasonal vegetable (parsnips) which was seasoned and perfectly cooked. The scallops and risotto were rich and filling. The oysters were local and briney. Staff was courteous of allergies and made sure my food was gluten free. Come out to the restaurant on the Beal and Bunker family run mail boat – they’ll pick you up from the restaurant at 930 pm. The whole experience was a really unique night! 10/10 would recommend!
