It was not crowded on a Sunday morning; I would definitely come back!
Adding to the discomfort, a large 50-inch screen displayed live surveillance footage of diners in the restaurant, creating an invasive and uneasy atmosphere while trying to enjoy a meal.
The menu, described as that of a steakhouse, was misleading. Not only were they out of steak, but the alternative offered was more expensive and came drenched in an odd red sauce—hardly resembling a traditional steak dish. The chicken strips served were more akin to a sweet-and-sour-style dish you’d expect from a Chinese takeout, not what one would consider standard chicken strips.
The only highlight was our server, who was kind and attentive. It’s unfortunate that such warm service was overshadowed by the overall poor environment and mismatched menu expectations.
This restaurant needs significant improvements in cleanliness, transparency, and food quality before it can live up to its steakhouse label.
The photos show the 50 inch live surveillance display and the full roach traps.
But I feel like I hit the jackpot. They had a great selection of breakfast goodies, the coffee is goooooooood, the service is charming and the prices are great.
Their menu is full of standout dishes, but the Texas BBQ Burger deserves special recognition — juicy, flavorful, and the perfect choice for either lunch or dinner. Pair it with their crispy golden fried onion rings and the house-made ranch, which is unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. It’s a true novelty that keeps you reaching for more.
Another hidden gem is their clam chowder on Fridays — creamy, hearty, and downright delicious. Honestly, it rivals and even surpasses the clam chowder served in San Francisco or any port city along the California coast. And if you’re visiting on a Friday evening, don’t miss their signature prime rib for $33, served with the prime rib au jus — it’s like stepping into the finest steakhouse in New York, tender, perfectly cooked, and rich with flavor.
And then there’s breakfast. Corkwood serves the kind of breakfast that feels like a warm, comfortable Sunday morning — the kind where your mom is in the kitchen making fluffy, buttery waffles topped with fresh fruit. Every plate is made with care and brings a sense of comfort that’s rare to find when eating out.
I personally love coming here on special occasions, like birthdays or family get-togethers, because it’s the kind of place that serves the most comforting food you can imagine. If you ever come to Woodland to visit family or friends, Corkwood Restaurant is a must. It’s affordable, filling, fresh, and comforting in a way that makes you feel at home. Every bite leaves you satisfied, your belly full, and your heart happy.
Between the food, the service, the nostalgic vibe, and the attention to freshness and cleanliness, Corkwood Restaurant has it all. It’s not just a place to eat — it’s an experience you’ll want to savor again and again.
