I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was very very dry and burnt. It was barely any cheese on it. And it was mostly just chicken and bread. I know they could do better because I’ve had many good experiances with cook out, but this time I was not impressed!!

Ordered 2 hamburgers, 2 fries, no drinks at 4:15 on Oct. 8th. The hamburgers not much bigger than a Krystal hamburger with the works and the fries were cold, I mean cold from their window. They did give a large amount of fries but I tried to eat one cold before leaving the business and it was tough and hard to chew. Got home and tried to microwave to warm up. This only made the fries tougher. I only write reviews when I feel totally ripped off. A really bad meal experience for $17.36. Will never go back. My advice; drive on by and cook your own at home for a much better meal.

Very friendly and patient staff. They food was great. We had a chili cheese burger, corn dog, small cheese burger, hush puppies, fries, coleslaw, and their delicious milkshakes. The burgers were tasty and hot. Love this place.

Not good! It amazes me this place is this busy. The burger was horrible. I was so suprised this was what was being served. The thinnest overcooked piece of meat on a tiny little bun. Like char grilled cardboard. The sides were a joke. Cheese bites tasted like grease, onion rings were average, and the fries were just sad. Kid got a quesadilla and it was a tortilla with cheese inside. No way to mess that up I guess. The saving grace and the second star was due to a pretty good milkshake. Will not return. This place gives hope to anyone wanting to open a burger place.

We were visiting @Highridge House in Fleetwood North Carolina and picked up cookout in Boone. Service was speedy, I keep forgetting that cookout isn’t five guys LOL! But the burgers were good. The french fries were better but those hush puppies and the cheese curds were fantastic!

Showed up at 12:30 am on a wed. Hours say open until 3:30 am. We were greated very rudely as she slammed the drive thru window locked it and mouthed “we’re closed.”

Terrible experience. Put in order for burger, fries and a bbq sandwich with a few sides of honey mustard. Confirmed 2x with the staff that honey mustard was added. Left in a rush and got home to realize not only the sauces were forgotten but the burger was also made incorrectly. Never had such a poor experience at a cookout — it’s a shame since we live so close to this one. Would recommend going a bit further down the street to Come Back Shack.

Open at 10:30 .there was 6 cars waiting in line for our order to took .waited for 15 mins with no response .thank goodness someone from another car for out and ask ifthey was going to take anyone order.but they wasn’t.so all 6 cars left .that was a lot of business you all lost

I ordered a belt tray and 4 bbq sandwiches add mayo and slaw, got home (45 minutes away) and had 4 chicken sandwiches. I don’t eat chicken!

Inconsistency is the main experience at Cook Out – sometimes the food is great with huge portion sizes, other times it’s just average. You have to keep your expectations in the right place when coming here.
My most recent experience was sub-par. I got 4 onion rings for one of my sides, and nothing came on my burger (I didn’t know I had to specify?) The Snickers shake was very good though.
Hopefully next time will be better.
