We recently visited Connie’s for breakfast, and while the food was pretty good, I have to say I was more drawn to the lunch menu! The staff were super kind and accommodating when I asked to order from the lunch menu instead. My husband and I enjoyed the mushrooms burger and tuna melt. The shop itself was small but cozy, and the staff’s friendly service added to the warm atmosphere.

Growing up in a small Nebraska town, this is exactly the type of Americana food I was looking for. I’ve never had a bad meal and highly recommend the ham and eggs, chicken fried steak and eggs, the little piggy omelette, the meatloaf and jalapeno omelette, and the patty melt.

This place should be on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives;” it’s that good! Found it by Googling Breakfast places in Vista and so glad we did! Best meatloaf I’ve had at a restaurant ever! They even let me switch out the burger patty for meatloaf on the breakfast burger and it was awesome! Bacon Benedict was tasty too according to my fellow foodie. The kid at the table next to us had the apple pie french toast (it looked and smelled amazing) and he told Connie it was the best French Toast he’d ever had. The final touch was scratch-made cookies that came with the bill. Delicious!

Decided on a random Saturday morning that I was feeling the urge to try some new place. So glad I picked Connie’s. I ordered ahead online and my order was ready right on time.
When I arrived (this was before Purple Tier and when outdoor dining was still safe-r because of lower case rates), there was a quaint outdoor dining area for the small cafe. The staff was incredibly friendly and were practicing good precautions when handling pick ups.
I had ordered the Denver omelet and apple pie french toast.
Denver omelet – well mixed and good ratio of egg versus mix ins. Not overcooked and nice and fluffy. Toast was typical and as expected.
Apple pie french toast – perfect balance of sweetness against well cook
