CommonWealth is a delicious place to come eat and enjoy coffee in the morning. It feels cozy and inviting in their shop. You order up front and they bring your food and drinks to you. Enjoy your food inside or out on their patio. My husband really enjoyed his Americano and said it was really smooth. Our breakfast croissant and omelette were a hefty serving and packed full of meat. We may stop back again to try more of their menu!

Amazing! This is honestly the best matcha I’ve had yet! I got the oatmeal with a side of French toast and both were delicious. Oatmeal had the perfect amount of sweetness and the coconut flakes and berries were perfect. The French toast was also to die for! And my husband loved his breakfast too

This is a nicely located cafe that has delicious coffee. I had a pistachio oat milk cappuccino & it was hot, flavorful, and not too sweet. Their freshly baked pastries were also delicious. I hope to be back soon!

Excellent breakfast options until 3pm and lunch and pastries all day. Coffee was outstanding. I had the breakfast tacos . Yummy! Sit inside when it’s hot in the nicely appointed dining area, frequented by students and remote workers. During the cooler months, they also have a great outdoor seating area with park views.

The Croque Madame was made primitively, as if it was thrown together carelessly. It’s just two slices of bread with ham slices, a fried egg, cheese, and that’s it. No sauces whatsoever. A dry, boring something that can’t even be called a dish; it’s a primitive sandwich. I wouldn’t even make myself something like that when I’m hungover.
Oatmeal – this is something very strange. Imagine a compressed briquette of oatmeal, poured over with, I don’t even know what, vegan “milk”? Literally a briquette. A brick. A lump. Dry inside and soggy outside. Maybe that’s how it was intended, but it’s unpleasant to eat. It’s sprinkled with berries on top, but they don’t change the fact that what’s in the bowl looks like clumped-together instant noodles.
The crepe with ham and cheese was excellent. Quite large and filling, they did a great job.
Considering the price of some of the dishes, I’m not prepared to recommend ordering breakfast at this place. It’s expensive and mediocre.
We asked for a highchair for the kid, staff told me that they have them outside, and no one brought it to us. I found a highchair by myself but, since it was outside for a long time (I guess?), it was dirty and dusty.

What an adorable spot! Both the food and coffee were great and the outdoor patio was adorable. But BOY do they need to hire a systems engineer- I waited over 15 minutes just to order. It was a busy Sunday morning, I understand that, but they had the person at the register taking orders, making drinks, and getting pastries and it just took absolutely forever. By the time I left, the line was probably 30 people long just to order, but the rest of the restaurant was not busy at all. There definitely has to be a better way to do that. Also there was a food truck parked outside the patio that was SO loud.

Commonwealth coffee house was a good stop on our trip. Food with French influence. Everything was good. Bread was crispy food was flavorful.
Parking was either street or nearby parking garage.
Coffee was acidic so if you like acidic coffee you will like the coffee, for me not so much, but that did not affect my review.
The employees were very nice and helpful. Most of the service is a “do it for yourself” type of thing, but food was brought out to us promptly.
If you are looking for good savory food make this a stop on your list.

My daughter and I were out looking for coffee when we stumbled upon CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bakery – Hemisfair, and what an incredible find it was! From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the charm of the old historic structure beautifully renovated with such thoughtful detail. Every corner blends character and modern comfort perfectly — you can truly feel the care that went into preserving its beauty.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and inspiring. The coffee and bakery items were absolutely delicious, fresh, and crafted with excellence. What made this visit even more special was seeing how inspired my daughter became. She was so delighted by the experience that she said one day she hopes to own a franchise just like this.

This place is more than just a coffee shop — it’s an experience. Definitely our first visit, but certainly not our last!
