Great place to eat. The food was exceptional. The staff is also nice. They do not have their own parking so you would have to park on the street, in the parking garage, or the parking lot next to the building the lot is $5.95 an hour, but I’m not sure how much the parking garage is. The pice is good for the amount of food and what you get. The place is not that big but when you’re greeted you can sit anywhere according to your party size. It is a little chilly in there so bring a sweater. Stop by this place and support local if you’re ever in downtown Raleigh, NC.

Great food at this historic BBQ hot spot. Fried chicken was amazing. Ashley was very helpful with all our questions.

Just a half block from another notable Raleigh house of fried chicken, Clyde Cooper’s is delivering the goods. Food is on paper trays and styrofoam bowls and cups. Served with a plastic fork but there’s love in this food. Hush puppies are fresh sweet and crispy. The pork rinds are nice and I used mine as a crumble for my Mac n cheese. All of the food here just tastes like great home cooking. The collards, green beans, mac n cheese and fries are all good but the star is the brined fried chicken! Meat is salty good and the crust is lightly crispy. I will be back often.

Amazing food and staff. Fried chicken to die for. Very detailed interior bring you back to the good old days. Johnsie was a perfectionist as our server.

Great Service! Cool atmosphere. Good food. I’m not much for vinegar based bbq. This was better than most. I had the Mr. Cooper sandwich, pork, fried chicken, and brisket. Couldn’t taste the brisket. For dessert, banana pudding. I was told it was the “quick made,” not the usual. Still tasted good.

Pleasant service. Meats were all awesome – our family had ribs, fried chicken, & beef brisket!! Pretty good sides: okra, french fries, green beans, butter beans/corn, hush puppies, & boiled potatoes. Mac & cheese was disappointing. (Took picture after I ate half the meal.)

Their food is good I will say that, it’s not the best BBQ I’ve had but it’s definitely good. The service is always remarkable when my significant other and daughter go. One thing though you better get there earlier in the day because they definitely close around mid afternoon. Me personally I absolutely love their homemade pork skins and the hush puppies.
