Established in 2002. Cloud City Coffee opened in 2002 when Jill Killen saw a need for a community gathering place in the family-rich Maple Leaf neighborhood located in northeast Seattle. Armed with a passion for coffee since an early age (she actually drank coffee starting as an infant), she and a business partner decided to take the plunge into the coffee business and set out to find the perfect spot – landing in the shadow of the Maple Leaf water tower. The plan was to provide quality food and coffee, and respond to the community in terms of what Cloud City would offer…and hope it worked! Since then, Cloud City has evolved into the town hall of Maple Leaf with a following of regular customers who make each day feel like home. The men

Very good place if you have dietary restrictions. They are tailored to be very progressive and have lots of great breakfast food for vegans. They’re coffee is pretty standard, and not too pricey. A very cute store with merchandise and whole bean bags as well. Lots of seating. Food and drink does take awhile to come out, but a good spot for breakfast and/or to hangout.

This place is awesome and down to earth and family and dog friendly. I have been coming here almost every week for the last 3 years. There is plenty of seating. They have great drip coffee; both that they brew and their retail beans. I brew their coffee at home and had an amazing coffee from Yemen here once. The food options are great if you have dietary restrictions too. As a vegan, I get the Tofu Bahn Mi a lot and it’s delicious! Their vegan breakfast sandwich is great too but I just wish we didn’t have a Vegan tax in the US and we’d actually incentivize people to choose more environmentally friendly options. They get very busy so sometimes you have to wait a little while but in all honesty, I’d much rather wait and get something awesome then get something sub par immediately. Coffee shops prioritize speed over quality too often and I’m glad that Cloud City does not.

Lovely 7:30am breakfast here 🙂 The black sesame latte was deliciously heavy on the sesame, and not too sweet, which paired perfectly with oat milk. Their vegan coconut ube muffin is absolutely scrumptious, as is there knockout vegan breakfast sammie and biscuits and gravy. Slather them with hot sauce for a real morning wake up! Definitely coming back again to try more baked goodies and specialty drinks 🙂

We’ve eaten here almost everyday of our trip to Seattle as it’s near our rental and I really love this place! Ordering online is easy and the bagel sandwiches are just perfect! Love that they have quite a few vegan options for the breakfast sandwiches. They have wonderful teas and coffees as well. My husband has enjoyed his mocha, my son gets the hot chocolate, and I tried their monthly special which was a toasty hojicha green tea mixed with cocoa, very unique and really good!

Friendly local cafe with great coffee and homey food made on site. Great place for multiple lunch and breakfast options. If you’re meeting folks with dietary restrictions, Cloud City is perfect—vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options with good selection.

Beloved neighborhood spot for breakfast, lunch, and coffee. I recommend the grilled cheese with a free side of kale-slaw or one of the excellent quiches, heated up. I love that they make available their used espresso grounds as a nitrogen supplement for farmers and gardeners in the community.

My favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood. Excellent batch brew, and love the honor bar system. I get a vegan breakfast sandwich at least once a week. They have a selection of vegan baked goods. Love their cold brew.
