We were traveling through the area and we discovered this local restaurant and bar. It has been serving the locals since 1963. Great atmosphere, lots of areas to choose from. An old wooden bar, wood dividers, outdoor seating, tables in different areas and a room for receptions or parties.

Server was friendly & attentive and our food was delicious. The hand cut & made to order mozzarella sticks were amazing; the Reuben was thick and flavorful, the cole slaw creamy and the burger arrived hot & fresh. Will definitely be going back!

I had the black bean veggie burger. It was excellent. Very flavorful. The black bean patty itself was quite savory. I also love that the burger comes with guacamole. So good! It doesn’t come with cheese, you have to ask for them to put cheese on and that costs an additional dollar. The French fries were pretty good.

We had lunch on the patio today with a nice breeze blowing. The food was absolutely delicious and recommend the Tavern Salad as well as the Cheesesteak Sandwich, but all the food we’ve had there is really good, fresh and tasty. Kristen H is an awesome server; friendly, fun and efficient, checks back frequently, and anticipates needs for drink refills, extra napkins; whatever you need. Kristen, you’re the best!

I decided to take my wife here for a milestone birthday. What a mistake and an utter disappointment. Her food was greasy; my sandwich was super dry. We ate anyway and went shopping. Within an hour, both sick to our stomachs and in the bathroom. Not a great way to spend a special day together. I guess the dark, late 70’s decor should have been the first red flag. Needless to say, I ended up in the doghouse, and we won’t be back. Thanks.

I called today 05/10 and Kristen answered. I asked if they were doing a Mother’s Day brunch and she said with an attitude in her voice that they had the Sunday brunch and that was it. I asked if I had to make a reservation and she said with attitude again “highly recommended.” I asked about the price per adult and kids and she replied with $30 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. The prices she gave me is totally different from the prices on their website. My first impression of this place is not a good one! Please don’t answer the phone if you’re going to be nasty to potential customers. She was giving me one word answers as if she was not interested and not engaging at all. First impressions do count! This is usually a red flag for me when I can’t even get customer service over the phone so I’d rather not try this place out. I was trying to find a nice Mother’s Day brunch for myself, my mom and my aunt. It was supposed to be a party of 10 people and that’s why I inquired about the reservation.

This was my grandson first birthday party. He love it here and he his a girlfriend that works here and he just flirts with her all the time. The waitress was staff and manager was so awesome I did a good job at City Tavern. Thank you so much.
