LOVE this place for a quick lunch. I’ve been spoiled – they make my favorite salad ever. Staff are great, work hard, and are so personable. Elyse was awesome enough to motivate me to write a review. She not only made my favorite lunch, but turned my day around from “blah” to “things are pretty darn good.” And that is before I took a bite!
My only critique: The lines. Sometimes the line for sandwiches can be long (because of their quality. taste, and limitations of the physical space – not the fault of the employees). If you aren’t familiar, it may be confusing to figure out the salad and sandwich lines are different.

City Market is amazing! The food and staff is great! It’s my go-to ordering place for my work lunches. Also Kathleen has always been a great help in everything I call or email about!

Small soup and sandwich joint near the Mayo Clinic. My wife had the Italian and I enjoyed the Cuban and both were delicious. Very fresh ingredients and plenty of meat on each sandwich. Workers are pleasant and efficient, our order was done quickly and correctly. Not a lot of seating room.

We used City Market for catering our event (over 100 people) and Kathleen and her team went above and beyond to accommodate for our event. A special thank you to Paloma, Kathleen and everyone who worked today (on a day off for them!) to help make our event a success.

Just got tomato basil soup. It was very good and 12 oz bowl was plenty. Also given package of oyster crackers, baguette of fresh bread and packet of croutons as well as shredded Parmesan cheese. Way more than I expected to get with a $4.95 soup. I’d definitely recommend and definitely go, again.

I got the Tuna Salad Panini, which is what I get when I come here, although I’ve only been a few times. The line is always at the door because the food is made with fresh ingredients everyday. It is easy for me to call this the best deli/sandwich spot in Rochester, the variety of the menu and repeatable product is worth every penny (sandwiches are around $7-10). The location is fairly central, and there is some space inside and outside to sit.

We enjoyed the Tuna Salad Panini and the Italian. We got half sandwiches because we read that they fill them with lots of meat. That turned out to be true so we were quite full. Everything is fresh, the workers are nice and efficient, and the line moves quickly. We are outdoors as there isn’t much room inside. The chocolate chip cookies are soft and chewy.

The sandwiches are alright at best. Very very bland, I had to dress it up quite a bit just to not feel like I was eating straight bread. It is busy and when a co worker of mine asked where to order soup (first time being there) she was rudely waved to the check out counter with no words being exchanged. I personally think even panera bread is better. It’s a bummer because I work downtown and would love a good affordable sandwich place.
