Born in South Africa with a blend of Portuguese and British culture. It all started in Mozambique, home of the hot sun, rich soil… and African Bird’s Eye Chillies. Also known as PERi-PERi. Small in looks but mighty in flavor, these chillies have been used for centuries in Mozambiquan cooking. The Portuguese then added a the pizazz of lemon and kick of garlic to make the very first PERi-PERi sauce. Used on just about anything, they found it was the ultimate baste for flame-grilling spatchcocked chicken. And it wasn’t long before the concept of peri peri came to the uk. Now all the way from the uk the owner of Mister Peri Peri’s Grill has brought the taste of PERi-PERi chicken to Redding California.

Delicious grilled chicken, juicy meats, love the option of different spices and hotness levels. I opted for the lemon herb chicken, which was flavorful and delicious. This chicken meal combo came with 2 sides. The mashed potatoes included real potatoes that tasted of light garlic and flavoring. Overall, great food, great service, and reasonably priced. Would love to come back next time I’m visiting Redding.

Peri Peri Grill is absolutely fantastic! We tried the Chicken Grilled Sandwich, Chicken Grilled platter, and the Breaded Shrimp, all were delicious and perfectly cooked. The flavor is incredible! Bonus: they offer beer, which is great with the spice. The staff are lovely and provide nice, prompt service. Highly recommend this spot for a flavorful meal!

(Pictured is my favorite the butterfly burger)I love Peri Peri, the food (at least all the grilled chicken stuff like butterfly burger, salads, sides, burgers etc) is AMAZING, the service is great, there’s a few who stick out like Jorge and Jimmy, these guys are great and deserve a raise, they always have the best attitude and make ordering the food that much better. I think the food is reasonably priced when combining it with the spend $20 and get $5 off deal that is on the online menu hidden.

We ordered the boneless thighs with plain, garlic, and lime varieties, with a side of rice and mashed potatoes and gravy. The chickens were okay — they were juicy enough but extremely salty across all varieties and not particularly delicious. The rice was so-so, the mashed potatoes tasted old, and the gravy yet again was incredibly salty. The service was super nice and efficient, and the place was clean, but will probably not come back for the food.

Their chicken was amazing! And more than I could eat in one sitting, so I got to enjoy leftovers, too. The mashed potatoes are “homemade” at the restaurant; they were delicious. The staff was very friendly. I was asking questions about their process after I had tasted my meal. The gentleman I was talking to took the time to answer my questions and we continued having a nice conversation. I liked the information on their walls, part of the decor, that explained some of the history of their company.

Our first meal at Mr. Peri Peri’s was delightful! We ordered the signature chicken sandwich and a chicken/rice bowl. Nick was extremely helpful and made some bomb food/gave great service!! I’d highly recommend this place.

We stumbled upon Mister Peri Peri during a recent road trip through Redding, and the name alone piqued our interest. We were so glad we decided to stop!
The staff were very friendly, and the food itself was the real star. The chicken is super tender and juicy. We ordered the 4 boneless thighs with the Mango Lime sauce, and a whole chicken platter with two sides. They gave us two different sauces to try with the whole chicken, and both were equally excellent—flavorful and tasty without being overly spicy.
If you’re passing by Redding, make this a required stop. We’ll definitely be back next time!

This was my first time coming here and I am hooked! I’m so amazed by the quality in the food. Between the texture, flavor, and aesthetic of the food I give them 5 stars all around! I’ve never had wings taste so full with flavor that wasn’t overpowering and then also be so soft. The meat slipped right off the bone. I’ll be bold and say these are the best wings in Redding! And don’t get me started not the service.. They were all so nice! And totally dedicated to serving their customers with a happy face and genuine service. I am very much looking forward to going back. The prices were also at a good range. The salad alone will last me two meals 🙂

Not your average chicken place. This place brought back memories. I never thought I had through the food. It’s unexpected, unique and beautifully executed. Must try if haven’t amazing service, food and atmosphere and the price is okay. Definitely worth it. Definitely recommend $1 Wing Wednesdays. Try them all.
