I would normally share a picture of the food but I had a bite on the way to my table and then it just disappeared just like that… I will say I was extremely surprised at how well this tasted. It is hands down some of the best I’ve had in many years and every aspect of it was good. The service was incredible as well as the food and the atmosphere. The corn bread pudding was out of this world and my wife flipped over the banana pudding. Literally nothing that I could complain about in fact everything was perfection.

I order online, use curbside pickup, and have never had an issue. The city sampler is what I always order, it feeds two people well. Beef brisket is my favorite here, it’s excellent. Turkey breast, pulled pork and pulled chicken are also very good. The garlic bread is a little dry and could use a little more butter and garlic. The baked beans at this location are my favorite in all of Oakland County. Likewise with the potato salad!

I was hoping so much for this location to be good. We love city bbq. The brisket was extremely overcooked and the rub seemed to be overly salty. the pork was very fatty and mostly inedible. The turkey was good. the chicken was smoked very well. the mac n cheese was thick and not creamy like usual. the cornbread was delicious. the garlic toast was yum aswell. the fried pickles were lightly battered and the pickle had a nice salt balance with the breading. All in all I wont be back to this location but hopefully it was just a bad timing. (it was a Friday at 5.

It’s sort of a mid-range quick dining experience. You order your food, take a seat. Get your own drinks, silverware, barbecue sauce, Etc. When your number’s called you go up and pick up your tray of food. No wait staff, but it looks like they clean the tables as people leave. Unfortunately, they were slow on cleaning up the tables so it’s difficult to find a table that didn’t need to be cleaned off.

Food was really good! Loved the Nashville chicken sandwiches and the fries were incredibly fresh. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here and the employees were phenomenal and friendly. Will definitely be back soon to eat my way through the rest of the menu!

Great Barbecue, one of the best in the metro. A real BBQ joint Decor, rolls of paper towel on the tables and bags hanging in the wall for leftovers. The counter Service was good, I was surprised how long it took for our order but not a big deal. Since it was our first time we got the judges platter. Generous portions. The meats were great. Ribs are spot on. The pulled pork and brisket were good, a little mushy but that happens with smoked meats later in a day. The chicken was really good. Sides we’re good, we got the green beans, potato salad and fries. My wife did not care for the saltiness of the green beans and potato salad. The fries were fresh and yumm. Definitely worth a trip.

Ordered food here twice. First time I got the brisket which had great flavor but was super dry. The beans were great. Gave them another shot as the flavor was good. Ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. Chicken was thin and again dry. Mac and cheese was over cooked and just mush. Bummer as it has potential!

I was craving some BBQ and wanted to mix it up from my usual go-to places. I got on yelp and saw this place was not too far from my house.

I came for the famous brisket, they were out. Got ribs- two fell off the bone- the rest had to be knawed off. Flavor was good though. I hated the Mac n cheese, but loved the green beans. I don’t like that everything is a la carte, gets pricey that way. Another complaint- our whole family’s meal was set out on a tray for about 5 minutes while my husband’s fries were cooking, so nothing was hot, but luke warm. This is no big deal, just worth noting. I prefer a mustard based or vinegar based sauce- neither to be found. Prob won’t be back to try the brisket just because I’ve had better sides, ribs and prices. I prefer Mission and Dickie’s, even Billy Slim’s over City BBQ.
