We visit here often. The food and service is always awesome. Great atmosphere. My go to is the Not A Sloppy Joe sandwich and Collared Greens. The triple Q meat is amazing! Managers and decision makers, if you are reading this, as much as I love the sandwich, I really wish you would bring back the Triple Q Tacos….. Please!

Generally, I love some City Barbeque, but tonight I received an order that contained a KIDS pulled chicken sandwich and the chicken was cold and seemingly unsafe to eat. I then contacted the store to inform them of what I received to be told “If you eat and don’t want it you can come back…-from my professional opinion, we don’t have molded food”, as I stare at grey-green chicken. Not only is telling me what I’m looking at is not so, is one thing, but to minimize the report by suggesting I’m looking at “chicken vein” (like I don’t know what that might look like) is crazy.
I am disappointed in condescending and dismissive attitude provided concerning a safety issue. I hope they asses their customer service team.

Decided to visit City BARBEQUE for dinner at the Kettering, OH, Store #10073 on Jan 30, 2026 as we are regulars at this location. Like all previous visits, dine-in or take-out, we were very pleased. The service (employees namely Steven (Mgr), Brennen, William, Malia & others working at the time) gave us excellent service. Friendly and focused on customer satisfaction! Our food was cooked perfect, portion size was good, great menu variety reasonably priced and very clean. Five stars every time we have ordered from this location. A definite recommend. Thank you.

I just want to give a huge shout-out to Breenan, the manager at this City BBQ location. Even though our order was correct, he went above and beyond by personally coming out to our table to double-check a Nashville hot chicken sandwich because he remembered a past customization. If you’re looking for some quick and delicious down south-style barbecue, I would highly recommend City BBQ. Arriving on a sunny Sunday around 5:20 pm, I pulled into a well-maintained parking lot with the sight of patio furniture and umbrellas providing shade.
With easy parking and even a drive-thru available, I walked in and was greeted with smiles immediately. You can see the LED menu and a full staff working behind the counter in different stations. After carefully searching the menu and asking plenty of questions, I decided on ribs, collard greens, corn pudding, and a pulled chicken sandwich.
I had never been to this restaurant before, and after my many questions, a manager named Nathan took notice and offered samples to help me make my decision, which I thought was impressive. I sat down at a high-topped table, very clean, and was able to observe the drink station and barbecue sauce station to set me up before my food came. I opted for the sweet tea and lemonade mixed, which was absolutely delicious, and some extra original sauce. By the time I returned with my drink, my food was meeting me there as well, with the manager Nathan dropping off the food and making sure I was all set before carrying on to help behind the counter—once again, impressive and attentive.
After a quick prayer and a glance over my food, I dug right into the collard greens with pork. They had a small kick of acidity and weren’t too salty. The ribs were falling off the bone with smokiness and a light glaze. The corn pudding was warm, sweet, with plenty of corn, and the chicken sandwich was soft and tangy with a delicate sauce mixed in with the pulled chicken.
Price: $27.50
No complaints here, and I’m actually excited to try them again!

Great food. Fried pickles were great. The pickles still had a good crunch and flavor of the dill pickles with a nice crunchy outer coating. The BBQ we had was tender with the right amount of smoke. The grits, which sadly are not a permanent menu thing, were the best. They were your regular grits. These were soaked ground grits nice and creamy with a nice subtle but full cheese flavor.

Every time I come here the staff is always friendly and they let me joke around with them. The food is always good. I either get ribs cut by the bone with fries and peach cobbler or a pulled pork sandwich with the same sides. The atmosphere is wonderful the seating is preferable, with high tops and regular tables. Even a couple of big tables for larger parties.
