We ordered takeout for our Sunday family dinner. We tried almost everything. We had smoked turkey, brisket, BBQ, ribs, smoked sausage, chicken, mac n cheese, greens, cole slaw, baked beans with brisket and corn bread. Everything was very good. I ordered several family meals and that will allow you to try different foods. We also got the sampler. We enjoyed everything. I didn’t get to take pictures of everything. The pack everything neatly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was ready on time. We loved cornbread so you may want to order extras.

This restaurant is order and get food at counter style. So seat yourself. I had to wash our table with sanitizer because it was so sticky. We ordered bbq, ribs, collars, hush puppies, mac and cheese, and corn bread. Everything was ok.Nothing note worthy. I think they are missing flavor in most of their food.

Well the City Barbeque in Durham NC is outstanding, no extraordinary. About a month ago I sat down with Stephen with manager explaining we were having a birthday party and I explained what we needed and he made a lot of suggestions to improve what we wanted. Well the party was yesterday and the food was the hit of the party. The barbeque was outstanding, chicken on the bone, sausage, the the baked beans with the brisket, Mac and cheese and the hush puppies. Then Stephen added 4 different barbecue sauces, rolls and everything we needed. Stephen said corporate headquarters sends out pins but I say he needs a bonus, raise or even a promotion to where he travels around the country teaching customer service. It was because of Stephen did we go to City Barbecue. We have 4 barbecue places closer to us but we traveled over 30 minutes because of the excellent service and food.

The cornbread was more moist and tender than the brisket. They definitely missed their mark. The cornbread was good. The baked beans had a great flavor (with brisket in it) and their sauces were really well done. Fresh cut fries but they were the size of baby toes. Definitely won’t be going back.

My daughter and I was in the area and she wanted BBQ, so we stopped in to give them a try as a dine in versus delivery as the one time we had it delivered it was not good. However this time things were a lot better. First the cashier was very friendly and offered her take on a few sides so my daughter ordered the pulled pork sandwich with green beans and hushpuppies and I ordered the turkey sandwich ( thought I ordered pulled turkey) with fries and Mac and Cheese. Everything was good and fresh. Will be back again.

I had a taste for the brisket, which is generally always good but I decided to get the sampler because I wanted to try the smoked sausage, I substituted the pulled pork for a smoked chicken leg & thigh. The turkey was super tender and had a great smokey flavor. The sausage was delicious! I ate that on the Texas toast and dipped in the sweet BBQ sauces, the brisket was so dry I couldn’t eat it, but when I spoke to the manager, he fixed that quickly. I also had a side of the potato salad, which I happen to really enjoy and compliments the food well. The Arnold Palmer drink I mixed was better than any place around by far! I could just go for the lemonade, tea, and now the smoked sausage. Well done, y’all!

Been there on a weekend for lunch. We were six in number. So we ordered a lot of food. They have lots of sauces. The decor is cute and rustic. Me being a vegetarian on that day, I tried cole slaw, potato salad, fried okra, corn pudding and peach cobbler. All tasted great. Will come back for sure
