Did Thanksgiving take out dinner, just a breast and mashed potatoes. Turkey was delicious and moist, instructions for reheating not included but easy to find online. More than enough potatoes for 6 people, including gravy. Easy to order, pickup was a touch chaotic, but ready on time and a nice bonus of some sandwich rolls. Will be ordering again for Christmas since I can’t cook a turkey for some reason. I will be ordering more sides this time too!

I had to request moist brisket for my sandwich as the lean was very dry and overcooked. No bend or easy pull. Good flavor otherwise. The fried smoked wings were overseasoned and dry. We went after the lunch rush on a Thursday afternoon around 2:15.

Friendly staff and very good BBQ. We got the sampler platter for 6 people. It was a lot of food for a very good price. You can choose several sauces that are all very good. It’s very good and authentic BBQ.. Will definitely come back.

Brisket before business. This fast-casual BBQ spot offers meals of all sizes. Right after landing at RDU and grabbing a rental car, my coworker and I headed straight to City BBQ for lunch. Priorities! I got the ‘Sampler: 2 Meats, 2 Sides, Texas Toast’ with my choices of 18-Hour Brisket (smoky, tender, yummy) and Pulled Pork (bland without sauce). Thankfully, the vinegar-based Swine Wine sauce from the sauce bar saved the day. The Cornbread was okay and too smooth for me (I like crumbs and crustiness), but the Collard Greens were delicious!
NOTES/TIPS:

**Huge space, lots of tables. Easy parking in their own lot.

City has the best beans around, with brisket in them. The turkey is respectable, the the brisket is reliably excellent. I hear the ribs are good too. I also get Mac ‘n Cheese, hush puppies, banana pudding, and the wonderful peach cobbler laced with a subtle spice- mace?

The restaurant smells delicious and the music fits the atmosphere. The dude taking our order was helpful and chill. Their sauces are customizable and the lemonade is delicious. Food was ridiculously good, I suggest the cheese fries. Thoroughly enjoyed, will be coming back (:

Ordering process was expeditious. Got the two item sampler (kudos for having this option, not all bbq places do) that consisted of three ribs that were lightly sauced but were not light on flavor, brisket that I paid three dollars more for and was overcooked, dry, but had decent flavor, corn pudding was the best item on my plate, and fries that were 70% shorties and the rest were decent length, all lacked any seasoning. I got some Lo Co sauce and a dark BBQ sauce that were my only two options. As it was nearing closing time, the staff had restocked all the bottles. I didn’t see this until it I was packing my to-go box. This was disappointing as I am the Sauce Fiend! The Swine Wine was tasty! The restaurant was clean, staff half friendly other half seemed to be ready to go home but not rude at all. Two item sampler, two sides wa s $16…add three dollars if you want brisket as an item which I will not be getting again. If you are going to offer it at a premium, it has to be done right! The state of Texas and me dabbling in smoking brisket has somewhat spoiled me. Theirs failed all pull, break, and limp tests. I was overall, pleased with my visit and will be returning for corn pudding and to try some other proteins. Not bad City BBQ!

Delicious food, perfectly seasoned. My family ordered the mother load. It was more than enough for the six of us, and Im not sure which food item I loved best. We’re from Dallas, Tx.
