I’m not an NC BBQ fan and most chain BBQ joints aren’t the best. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, nice staff, quality food and flavor! The corn pudding, baked beans and brisket chili were top notch! I’ll be back for sure! Easy area to fill up drinks and get condiments and sauces! They have a great BBQ sauce bar too! Highly recommend!

I stopped by here on a whim because I moved here recently and being from Texas my BBQ standards are HIGH. Ive tried now 3 different BBQ restaurants in the Triad and 2 of them went down as the worst BBQ Ive ever had in my life. City BBQ however ranks up there with some of the BEST BBQ Ive ever had in Texas. The pulled pork is THE best pulled pork I have ever had hands down. I dunno how they do it but the pulled pork is actually juicy, moist and tender not dry and stingy and this is me tasting it WITHOUT sauce. The brisket I was worried for because its near impossible to beat Texas Brisket however this brisket had a lovely crust, was extremely tender and had an amazing taste throughout the meat, it was smokey, well seasoned and super flavorful. The Baked beans have huge chunks of brisket in them, they are moderately sweet and deliciously smoky, the potato salad is different in that its creamy with small chunks of potato and egg, but the flavor is SPOT on, its tangy and mayonnaise-y and vinegary from the Dijon mustard in just the right places, you MUST try the corn pudding especially if you’re not from the south, it reminds me of my family corn pudding fried in a cast iron recipe and it is bomb!! The Banana pudding is fresh and creamy and they somehow balanced some cinnamon in there without taking away from the banana flavor, its actually incredible and if I could steal the recipe for a family gathering and show it off as my own I absolutely would! If you’re like me get the sweet tea, half sweet half regular and it’ll be the perfect sweetness level! I also have to give a huge shout out to Derek for helping me at the drive through and even letting me taste the meat before I ordered since it was my first time, he was charming, welcoming and went above and beyond to make my first experience here amazing! I will absolutely be back, if not once a week!! Also the pricing is very decent for what you get! Thanks Derek and thanks City BBQ for giving me hope back of having good BBQ while im living in NC!

This is great BBQ! Bbq has a deep smoke taste, turkey breast was lean and cooked perfectly, baked beans with brisket was some of the best I ever ate. The batter on the fried okra was salty and sweet and was a unique flavor but was awesome. Even the bread was good. Will definitely go back before I leave town. Fast service, super nice staff and food was hot for under $20. A+++++

The nacho are really good, especially if you like a little spice. The bbq and sausage has a peppery flavor, both good. The brisket is very tender and juicy. I didn’t find that it had a lot of flavor. My favorite were the ribs. The buttered bread was thick and yummy. The fries were good. The Mac and Cheese wasn’t bad. The noodles were really soft. There was a good cheese flavor and I didn’t find it to be dry. I love baked beans but I wasn’t a fan of these. They’re not bad but I wasn’t personally a fan of the flavor. It’s very bold and tastes like liquid smoke to me. The chocolate cake was my least favorite. The tea was very tasty. The service was top of the line. Provided samples, made suggestions, very friendly, followed up multiple times to ensure we had what we needed. This was my first time here and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I live in the Raleigh area and have been to several of the City Barbeque’s in the Triangle area. I have to say this location tops all the others that I’ve been too. The location is very clean. The employees were super nice and you could tell they enjoyed working there. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. The only thing that didn’t have a good taste was the tea. So i asked (either the owner or manager) to get me some tea from the drive through and they did so cheerfully. The next thing I know they are emptying out the tea in the lobby to put more tea in there. What was impressive to me was the conversation I heard between the 2 employees. The front counter employee asked the guy why he was doing that and he said the taste of the tea didn’t meet their quality. I was very impressed! I wish I lived in Winston so I can visit this location more but anytime I’m passing through I’ll be stopping by. Thanks for the outstanding food and the superior customer service!

Lolo’s sandwich with fries was delicious. Love the ice cold Pepsi to wash it down. The lower quarter my wife had was juicy and delicious too. Derrick is always friendly and helpful when we come in. Young man Jake is super nice and clean cut. Keep up the good work.

First time eating here and boy was I surprised. The food was great. The brisket was tender and very tasty. This was really good bbq. Now let me say something about the service. This has to be the most friendly crew that I have met. These people actually seem to love their job and working with the public. Please keep up the good work.

I love City BBQ so when I saw that they was building one in WS, I was super excited. 1st time I went, food was dry but I gave them a pass bc they had just opened and I love city BBQ. Last week, I was craving BBQ and saw that City Bbq has PASTRAMI. Well, this time I decided to go in to see the restaurant bc I went through drive thru the first time. Atmosphere was nice and people were friendly however I waited 35mins but it’s OK bc I love City BBQ. Since I waited a while for my food, I just knew my food was gonna be amazing….it was not. I ordered the 2 meat plate and was so disappointed. My food was not hot, maybe room temp but definitely not hot. My pastrami was cold and hard. So disappointed bc I really wanted that pastrami. The sausage was dry, mac was not good, the only item I enjoyed was the greens, 8/10 but everything else was so disappointing. I was going to call and complain but the thought of waiting another 30+ mins and i was hungry at that moment, changed my mind. I threw the food away but ate the greens. I still enjoy City BBQ in Greensboro just had a couple bad experiences at the WS location and more than likely will just drive to Greensboro if i want City Bbq again.
