Very disappointed! I got a togo order and hush puppies and fries were drenched in grease, like old grease so I tossed them when I got home. I also didn’t get any slaw and the BBQ sauce was like water. Will not be back!

Barbacue plate wasn’t even fit to eat. Hush puppies wasn’t cook all the way and had the most greasy taste. Meat was just left overs dry pieces of meat.

My carryout experience here on 8/27/20 was disappointing, to say the least. My sons’ grilled cheese sandwiches were burnt to inedibility, their hush puppies tasted old, my okra had the same “old stale” quality to the serving, and my mother’s white coleslaw was essentially mush, without any actual form. I even arrived about ten minutes late to when I was told my order would be ready, and I still had a five minute wait.
Maybe this was an off night, and I’m hopeful that it was, considering they have excellent reviews otherwise.

I work just down the road from this place. Finally thought I’d give it a try in spite of the warnings of my coworkers. We looked up the menu online which had prices listed on it called and ordered the food. Ordered the brisket basket comes with a side and on the online menu it said it was $10 which I thought was a really good price. Got down there to pay for it and it was 18 something. I thought okay I’ll give it a try took my food back to where I work open it up it was pitiful absolutely pitiful. The brisket was pretty much flavorless and leathery. It reminded me of English cooking boiled meat. My hush puppies were cold and not very good. All in all don’t believe the online pricing and don’t think you’re going to get good food.

I ordered pulled pork plate with 2 sides. My order did not come with a bread. (would have been nice). I ordered mac and cheese they were out. The beans more than likely were straight out of a can. The fries were natural cut. ( a little under cooked, soggy). The portion of pulled pork was small. Service was adequate. Atmosphere was nice. I was the only one there throughout most of my meal. I was a little disappointed.

Ordered a brisket plate at market price and a pulled pork plate. Just stick to the pulled pork, brisket was AWFUL gave us 5 extremely paper thin pieces that was so tough you couldn’t chew it or even tear it apart with your hands, hush puppies were also awful, just stick to the pulled pork plate with red slaw. 31.00 for two plates and on is inedible is insane!

The wife and I ordered the brisket pate and the pulled pork plate, to go.
After getting home and reheating them we were very pleasantly suprised
They are even now as GOOD as fresh, EXCELLENT JOB, beautiful bark and flavor, all I can reiterate is ABSOLUTELY GREAT

Pulled chicken was okay but my wife said that the Pulled pork was very dry. The sweet tea very watered down. The old owners made everything perfect but the new owners don’t know how to bbq.

I ordered a pulled pork sandwhich and got flavorless brown texture on a great value branded bun with a side of sweet baby ray’s. Same story with the chicken. The okra and squash tasted like they were breaded with saltines without the salt and fried in vintage long john silvers fry oil. The mac and cheese was great though.
