I have heard really good things about this place. Just had their fish tacos. The presentation was next level. The salsa and components of the fish were delicious. The problem was the beer batter was so thick and overwhelming that there actually was no fish in this dish. Maybe an ounce of fish for 3 tacos. I pulled the last piece apart to show the server and he said he would pass it on to the kitchen. He was nice but what he was conveying was an attitude that we are Chula and we are perfect and you must be picky. Not sure I’ll go back

I’m only giving it a 3 cause of our waiter food is great the older women that works there seems easily irritated. I felt scared to ask her for anything. She took forever to order our drinks we ordered a bottle of champagne when asked for it she said there making it which made no sense. She forgot a coffee and a fruit bowl so had to remind her at the end just to scratch an item and bring the other to go. Our last server was a guy and he was amazing but this lady is just not friendly. I think maybe it’s too overwhelming for her when we asked a younger waitstaff if we could order our drinks she said the she’ll tell our server cause she’ll get mad which says a lot. It sucks because the food is so good but the service with her was very unpleasant.

Excellent brunch outing with my sister and son. I enjoyed poached eggs and my son had a peanut butter French toast. Quiet but got busy fairly quickly. Mimosas and grapefruit juice was fresh. Would go again. Excellent service and atmosphere.

Excellent fresh tasty dishes. Chile relleno and huevos rancheros were both delicious. Super cute atmosphere. Service was slow, but we got there early on a Saturday morning and the single server was doing her best to cover the crowd. She finally got some help about 30 minutes later, which helped significantly.

We finally tried Chula Artisnal Eatery after seeing it on Guy Fieri’s DDD. It’s homey and eclectic interior provides a great atmosphere for eating. I had the single order of brioche toast, which came with an unnecessary side of maple syrup IMO as it was topped with a delicious cinnamon whipped cream and charred strawberry jam. It was moist and a single order was quite filling. My wife had the Chula fritters and fried green tomatoes. I had bites of each and they were both delicious. We also received a small serving of homemade chips and salsa and it was also delicious. They told us when we said we want to bring friends to call for availability. The service was excellent and so was the Joshua Tree coffee.

Great food, fantastic food really, but the service…. BAD. From the moment you walk in, no direction, no acknowledgement. The person bussing tables is honestly the slowest restaurant worker I’ve ever seen. I want to love this place but they need some serious modifications. Waiters are good for the most part, But the front of the house needs attention. Literally a business consultant could fix this in a week. Hire me… I’m local.
