⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (3.5–4, adjusted lower due to order issue)

This is one of the Chubby locations, situated in Anaheim. It’s conveniently located on Katella Ave, right next to Blaze Pizza and Starbucks, just east of Harbor Blvd.

Parking:
Parking is in the rear — there’s a driveway immediately past Harbor Blvd heading east on Katella. It’s shared with Hyatt and Walgreens, and the best part: free parking. The restaurant is also just down the block from Disneyland’s front entrance and shuttle area, which makes it a convenient stop before or after a park visit.

It is small in there and it feels everything is kind of cramped up. Not sure if it’s good for large group of people. On that, I would give them a lower rating.

Ordering & Timing:
I ordered online through their website, and the quoted pickup time was pretty accurate, which I appreciate.

What I Ordered:
• Siu Mai (4 pcs)
• BBQ Pork Bun (1 pc)
• Black Pepper Beef Dumplings (6 pcs)
• Wagyu Beef Dan Dan Noodles

❗ Order Accuracy Issue:
I specifically requested no cilantro (the website even prompted this), but that request was not honored. That’s a big miss for me and definitely costs them one star.

‍ Food Thoughts:
• BBQ Pork Bun: Decent, nothing outstanding
• Dumplings: Filling was fine, but the dumpling skin was below average
• Temperature: Food wasn’t as warm as expected, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since it was a to-go order and I didn’t eat until about 15 minutes later

Service:
Customer service was okay — not especially friendly, but not bad either. Very neutral.

Overall:
Under normal circumstances, this would be a solid 3.5–4 star spot. However, since they asked for preferences and didn’t follow through, I have to rate it a bit lower.

That said, it’s not a bad place at all, and I’d definitely give it another try, especially since there are still plenty of menu items I haven’t explored yet.

Overated.. prepare to stuff yourself with rice and noodles with barely any beef (protein)… the actual food and portion doesn’t look like the picture of food on the menu. Food on the menu had beef covering entire bowl bok choy. I got maybe 4-5 tiny strips of beef and a ton of rice. Same with the noodles, very little ground beef. Basically you will eat 95% carbs and 5% protein. Wontons were ok but same, very tiny portion. Staff failed to provide our complete order and include a ramune on the menu. We had to get up, double check our order and ask for them. Place wasn’t that busy.

We ordered online and it was made pretty quickly. It was my partners first time having dumplings and wontons like these and he’s hooked! We don’t have food like this back in Idaho and it was delicious. Yeah portions are kinda small but they filled us up pretty good. Thank you for the amazing food

Great food, friendly staff, and quick service for how busy they were on my visit.
Stopped in for take out during the Disney Half Marathon weekend. Despite the place being completely packed the staff were all great, for was prepared pretty quick for how many were ahead of us, and tasted great.
Definitely recommend the dumplings, of course. But we also tried the noodles. Seating is limited, but ended up finding a spot along the wall bar in the back.

Would def return for dumplings again.
But I would try and order ahead for takeout to save time.

Chubby Dumplings Anaheim is such a gem! Really neat to Disney! The wonton bowl is honestly the best I’ve ever had — the chili sauce is super addictive and gives it the perfect kick. I also loved the yellow custard bun, so soft and satisfying with just the right amount of sweetness.

You can tell their dumplings are freshly made and the texture and flavor are on point. Everything came out fast and hot, and the space has a fun, welcoming vibe. Definitely coming back to try more!

We were visiting the area and ended up eating here twice because it was that good! The pork soup dumplings and noodles were our favorites, but everything we tried was delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was great both times. Definitely a spot we’d come back to next time we’re in town!

Such great food and experience! It was self-order at the counter, the machine was easy to use. We’ve asked for some recommendation and the staff was very nice. Ordered a couple different things to try out and liked all of them. My favorite was the wagyu noodles and my mom liked the chicken broth wontons the most. We’ll come back!

I had high expectations for Chubby Dumpling based on its stellar ratings and a mention in Michelin. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. The garlic dry noodle lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for and tasted rather bland. The soup dumplings, while decent, were simple and lacked the refinement I associate with high-quality dumplings.

Overall, the experience was not superb. The food was a bit above average, a middle-of-the-road affair–not spectacular. To be fair, we did order to go, which might have affected the quality. We’ll definitely give it another shot by dining in next time. The place look clean and modest. Not crowded and it took a while for someone to come out to the counter and greet us. May have been a bad day.

We were in town to go to Disneyland and we were staying a couple blocks away. It was a nice walk over and I saw this place driving in. I love dumplings in general, but haven’t really enjoyed the last couple of soup dumplings Ive tried at other places. We got there around 6:30p on a Sunday night and a lot of what you see online, was out.

We did end up ordering the classic pork dumplings, BBQ pork bao, the spicy pork dumplings to go.

Out of 5 soup dumplings, 3 didn’t have any soup in it, one wasn’t completely sealed so could have leaked out, but the other barely had any liquid to slurp. The other two had barely a few drops more.

It was tasty but the whole purpose of ordering this dish was a big fail.

My husband ordered the spicy dumplings and that dish was fire! It was very good and from a person who isnt enamored of dumplings he complimented the taste and texture.

We didn’t get to taste the BBQ baos because my husband accidentally threw out the container when we were too full to eat it right away.

We will not go out of our way to eat here again.

The only pleasant part of my experience with this place with this place was my Uber driver who dropped the food off to my hotel. My crispy pork dumplings showed up steamed which wasn’t the end of the world BUT when I bit into it and the inside was raw. It wasn’t just one order of dumplings either. They both were raw. My daughter ate her soup dumplings before I ever got a chance to check them so I hope those were actually cooked. The chicken egg rolls were cooked but we’re pretty blah. I was really hoping this place would have been good but alas it was terrible. I ended up with no dinner after a long day at Disney. Save your money and go elsewhere. There’s nothing Michelin or legendary about this place.
