I booked a reservation for my family for a Christmas dinner. We arrived a little earlier, they sat us within minutes.
Anthony was our server and did a fantastic job! All the other service help was fantastic as well. From the time we ordered, our food was out in no time.
While our evening was overwhelmingly positive, I did want to provide one piece of constructive feedback, which I hope you find helpful for future planning, particularly during peak times. Our table, along with the one positioned directly beside it, seemed to be situated in an area that became quite congested throughout the evening. We found ourselves frequently bumped by other patrons and staff navigating the space, which, at times, interrupted our conversation and slightly diminished the comfort of our experience. It felt as though these tables might have been added to accommodate the holiday rush, leading to a somewhat cramped environment in that particular section.

I Had reservations for 2. set for 6:45 pm
It was for my wife’s birthday.
We showed up at 6:10 pm
Notified the hosts at the front and sat at the bar and had some drinks, and waited
While waiting we heard nothing but complaints from 3 other couples about how delayed there waits were.
We did not get seated until 7:43 pm
2 minutes away from an Hour of waiting to be seated.
At this point we knew what we were going to order so we sat at the table and waited another 10 mins for the server to finally show up.
My wife had planned to order the wagyu, then was told that they had just run out.
We put in our order and waited roughly another 40 or so mins for our food to arrive.
My Ribeye was good on its own (the “house stake sauce” tasted like tomato sauce,vinegar with salt and pepper added to it, pretty boring)
The cheesy mashed potatoes had great flavor but just seemed overly mashed if that makes since , kinda like a toothpaste texture
The onion rings were delicious but just oversized for no reason.
The mushrooms were good , I did like those, the sauce they were in was nice and the texture was perfect
My wife said she really liked her stake (petite fillet)
Once we finished, we waited for the server again to pick up the check
So we could leave
That was another 20mins of waiting.
We didn’t leave until 9:40 or so.
The service was terrible last night, the food was nothing crazy to write home about in my opinion nor worth the price or the wait.
It was good but wasn’t like woah this is amazing.
We spent $300
We spent a total of 3.5 hours there (that is the longest I have ever been in a restaurant…EVER)
All in all I would say 2.5 stars out of 5 for last night

It’s a brilliant place to take a date, as the atmosphere is dark and romantic. The service was full of dapper dressers, and a proper etiquette. The food was ok. I just went in for a taste platter (seafood platter). Fine dining, alright good, great service. Recommend the crab cake!

Amazing experience dining here! Came in with a reservation on a Monday evening and we were immediately sat. To our surprise the floor was pretty full, so there was quite the movement! Our food was phenomenal and the service of those who work here is like nothing I’ve seen before. They value customer service and it shows, they take pride in ensuring the smoothest most comfortable experience. Please ask for David Lewis as your server, his service was above and beyond. Just the right amount of check ins, gave us all the information we needed. We accidentally misunderstood the way an item was cooked on the menu and immediately the manager came out and exchanged the item for something else without a hassle. I can’t say enough about this place. Thank you Chophouse ‘47!

We have enjoyed this place several times in the past, but no more. We do not live in the Greenville area, but have made it a planned stop when we travel to GA, it’s that good. We’ve even traveled the 2.5+ hrs. from our home, on occasion…. However, last night, again on a return day trip from GA, we stopped with our 7:45 pm reservation in hand only to be told there was a 1+ hour wait. This has happened to us once before at Chophouse 47, but we passed it off then as a one-time thing, as our wait on that occasion was less than 30 min. from our reserved time. Last night, as we canceled and walked out, another patron with a reservation for a private party shared that they were just being seated after a 1 hr. and 18 min. wait from her reservation time. This is totally unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber – front of the house, wait staff, kitchen and management can and should do better (particularly when they advise dining time limits when booking through Open Table!!) Either honor your reservations or change your reservation policy. Shame on you Chophouse 47.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here for our anniversary a few months ago and it was the best thing ever. Hands down best steak I have ever had!!!! Still thinking about the cheesecake as well. Our waiter and all other staff we dealt with were so kind and knowledgeable, which made me respect the establishment even more considering we are a very young couple (both 19) and have been treated a bit questionably by staff at other similar restaurants. 10/10 experience all around and cannot wait to be back!!!

My husband and I dined here for our first time and did not have the experience we hoped for. Our reservation was for 8:00 pm, and we were seated around 8:20, the restaurant was very busy, so that was understandable even with the reservation. The first bottle of wine we ordered was no longer available. We ordered the 40 oz tomahawk ribeye, loaded potato, and crispy Brussels. We waited for food for a while and ended up ordering an appetizer in the meantime, our server apologized. Another individual came to our table and apologized for our extensive wait and informed us that our steak had been cooked incorrectly and they were having to re-make our order. We were understanding, but almost 2 hours into our dinner with entrees. Our food was not brought to our table until 10pm! We ate a few bites and had the meal boxed up. The waitress apologized and offered a complimentary dessert, which was nice but did not seem sufficient (not her fault) we ordered a few espresso martinis to go with the dessert. Overall the atmosphere was nice and so was our server. 3 stars because we re-heated the food the next day but it was still good. However it is ridiculous to have this type of experience when expecting a fine dining at this establishment.
UPDATE** The manager was kind enough to offer a certificate for us to visit and dine again. Our second experience went much smoother and we were pleased with our evening! We were shocked and pleased with the sincerity from this establishment! This time we ordered the whole lobster, tomahawk ribeye, cheesey potatoes and asparagus with wine and espresso martini’s for dessert! The lobster was delectable and I SO enjoyed the table side service of cracking it.

My wife and I went on our anniversary. Chop House did not disappoint us! Our waiter Paul did a fantastic job! Old Fashion was spot on. Shrimp was awesome and our steak and cheesy mashed potatoes were fantastic! Thank you Paul and all the staff.

My best friend hosted my 70th birthday at Chophouse ’47. We had a lovely time. We did have reservations. We were seated as soon as we came in. A server stopped by to take our drink order shortly after we were seated. Our server arrived to check on us and to tell us about the menu. She came back after giving us a moment decide. Our drinks and food were great and served in a timely manner without being rushed. My friend had the crab cakes and I had the veal chop, my favorite. Chophouse ’47 even provided me a dessert of my choice that I was allowed to take home on them. So, I got to enjoy the experience from home, too.
My husband and I would celebrate our anniversaries (New Year’s Eve) at Chophouse ’47. My friend chose to host my birthday as this year would have been our 40th. We missed our 35th due to COVID. Subsequent anniversaries were not an option due his passing.
