Ambience is not that great so i think that can be improved.
The timings may be an issue for some people as the restaurant is open only till afternoon in weekdays and closes at 9 pm on weekends.
This place is a dump. There’s barely anybody there, just empty tables and chairs.
The lady at the counter has no care, they’re busy in the back chatting in the kitchen, there’s no hospitality at all.
I tried the Idli dipped in SamBar, it was horrible. Lukewarm, and not authentic at all. We are now driving to Udupi Cafe to get a proper Idli and dosa .
However, what really stood out was the cleanliness of the place. The tables were dirty, the chairs were turned around, and the floor clearly needed attention. I understand they had a busy morning, but when we walked in, several staff members were just sitting and watching TV during their break. A little more attention to the general upkeep would have made the experience much better.
The ambiance and cleanliness definitely need improvement. Bathrooms definitely needed attention
.
This is pure negligence of the management .
Never gonna order from here
We ordered a bunch of food and every item we ordered was very good. Even my parents who don’t really like Indian food here in the States loved how good the food was. The only one not pictured was the Magic Floating Idli. It tasted very good, and they gave it on the side, for us to add the idlis into the sambar. The sambar was a little watery, but tasted good. The Magic Idli had the podi which wasn’t too spicy, but taste good. Both the dosas were very good, crisp and soft in the between, and it vanished from the plate very fast. The upma was made with ghee, which tasted heavenly and just spilled out of your tongue. The coffee was very good, not really filter coffee but it was Desi coffee and it tasted good.
The puri was a little thicker than usual, but still tasted good. The potato for the puri was the same as the one they gave in the dosa, but still tasted good.
If you are ever in Houston, do not forget to visit Flying Idlis for a complete Indian South Indian breakfast.
Ordered mysure bonds – it is taste less
Chutneys and sambar are horrible. No coconut chutney.
Other chutneys gave are not at all tasty
Filter coffee also not at all good.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone
Not sure how they got so many positive reviews
