Absolutely fantastic! Every food in this place is perfectly cooked with balanced flavors, Bolani (Appetizer) is my favorite and it was cooked to perfection, a little crispy on the outside and the stuffed potatoes and mixed vegetables was mouthwatering delicious. Lamb chops were soft and tender along with their chicken kebabs over rice. For the final touch don’t forget the Green Tea. Fireplace and the kids play ground is a plus for families.
The staff was incredibly attentive and kind, and the natural atmosphere made for a perfect gathering – a must-visit!”

We visited Chopan Ranch today. We had the charsi kebab, and it was amazing — absolutely delicious. The place reminded me of being back in Afghanistan, eating with my family. They had animals outside, a big piece of land with a fountain, and outdoor seating. I loved it.

Chopan Ranch is an absolute gem. The food is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked-authentic Afghan cuisine at its best. The kabobs were tender and juicy, the rice was fragrant, and every dish was full of rich taste.
The service was outstanding. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and very attentive, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, with plenty of space for families and kids to enjoy.
Everything from the food to the service and environment was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious halal food and a great dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Worst dining experience ever!
We waited for over 1.5 hours and still didn’t get our food. This restaurant clearly doesn’t have the capacity to handle more than 20–30 people at a time. We eventually had to leave without dinner, which was extremely disappointing for a family night out.

To make things worse, they didn’t even serve water or basic appetizers like French fries during the long wait. The service was completely disorganized and unprofessional.

If there was an unexpected crowd (as they later claimed), then why keep accepting orders and assuring customers of a 30–40 minute wait when it clearly takes much longer? This kind of mismanagement and poor communication shows a lack of respect for customers’ time.

Overall, a pathetic experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for decent service or reliability.

Chopan Ranch offers a charming country vibe paired with traditional Afghan cuisine. You can enjoy flavorful dishes like Kabuli Pulao and Mantu in a rustic setting that reflects Afghan culture. It’s also a great venue for parties, providing a unique backdrop for celebrations. Are you thinking of visiting or hosting an event there?

We have been here multiple times including their other restaurants in the Houston area and our experience was previously great. Food was fresh right out of pot but our latest experience with food at this location has been poor. Chapli Kabab seemed like it was just reheated, rice seemed odd and some bread were also looking like it wasn’t freshly cooked and seemed rubbery cold. Also, please don’t tell families to come and theres is table available but when we arrive, you create a table in the middle of nowhere. Families need to be treated with respect and dignity, not with business. Families need to be feel comfortable. Really didn’t want to rate the location below 5 but had no choice. Over all visit was poor. I hope their services improve for our future visits with family.

⚠️ Attention Parents
If you’re considering visiting this location with your children, please be aware:
Although the area may seem safe due to its distance from traffic, the playground equipment is in poor condition — many items appear broken or potentially second-hand. Close supervision of your children is absolutely necessary while they are playing.
During our visit, my 4-year-old son burned his finger while attempting to grab a piece of hot charcoal. He mistook it for candy, as it had been left unattended on a hookah.
I approached the staff to explain the situation, asked to remove unattended hookah with burning charcoal and requested ice for his injured finger, but unfortunately, they didn’t care at all.
This is not a place where you can relax while your children play unsupervised. You must remain attentive at all times.
Additionally, there is a serious hygiene issue: a toilet reservoir has been buried near the customer area, and the vent line has also been left exposed. As a result, there is a strong and unpleasant sewage odor, which causes significant discomfort.
I don’t even mentioning forgotten orders!

Let me start with the positive: the ambiance is lovely. On a beautiful weekend, sitting outside at the ranch was very pleasant. However, that’s unfortunately where the positives ended for us. Our experience was defined by disorganization, extremely long waits, and disappointment.
First, the location is very remote, about 30 minutes further into Fulshear, so be prepared for a long drive. We made a reservation an hour in advance, but upon arrival, the staff couldn’t find it. Both the server and a manager seemed confused and unable to locate our booking, though they did eventually seat us.
The service was incredibly slow and disjointed. After being seated, we waited another 30 minutes just to place our order. We were on the verge of leaving, and I had to be direct with the staff that we couldn’t wait that long, especially with a hungry pregnant wife. The waiter promised our appetizer in 10 minutes and the main course in 20. This was not the case. We waited nearly 30 minutes for the appetizer (only after we flagged someone down), and our main courses arrived another 20 minutes after that. In total, it was almost an hour’s wait for our food after ordering.
When the food finally arrived, it was just okay. As fans of the Saffron and other Chopan restaurants, we found the taste wasn’t consistent with the quality we’re used to. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t worth the drive or the wait. Additionally, my wife’s soda was served warm, and no ice was provided.
For families with kids, the playground was a major draw, but it was in a state of disrepair. The seesaw was broken and flipped upside down, a swing was broken, the basketball hoop’s backboard was shattered, and we noticed several large ant piles, which is a safety concern.
Finally, the facilities are not equipped to handle a crowd. There are only two restrooms (one for each gender) with a shared sink in between. This created long lines, especially around Maghrib prayer time, with people praying very close to the busy restroom area. There didn’t appear to be a designated prayer space, despite a large, empty hall inside that could have been used.
Overall, I would not recommend making the long trip to Chopan Ranch to eat. The service is too disorganized and the food doesn’t justify the extreme wait times. If you have a lot of patience and are only coming for the outdoor setting, it might be okay, but I’d advise eating a snack before you go. It’s a great concept for a halal ranch, but the execution needs a tremendous amount of improvement.
