Average just another Chinese buffet, they have the same items over and over nothing special. Not very busy when we stopped for dinner, first time going here. Wonton soup and then get wonton from the other container, they are all stuck and broke when trying to pick them up. Limited salad items as well as dessert items.

This place is so lovely! The food never fails to be hot fresh and delicious. Unlike their competitors. The setting is beautiful and lovely. The waiters are kind and authentic. The variety of food is delicious they always have fresh sushi, baked salmon, and many other dishes. I love it. I absolutely will never visit any other seafood cuisine restaurant in Anchorage because the other ones have failed me. But China lights has lived up to expectations and exceeded them.

The food was good, but the price was higher than most comparable buffets. The food was held at great temperature and had alot of flavor. The banana cream and the jalapeño chicken were phenomenal. The service was great also!

The food was decent, the $3.50 for a soda seems a bit off. I also feel as though the restaurant are trying to nickel and dime you with the post about food waste.
Like the table we sat at, this restaurant staff isn’t bolted down
In probably won’t come back.

Clearly, I cannot trust the ratings in Alaska for food, as this was one of the highest rated Chinese places in all of Anchorage.
It was also really, really, REALLY expensive.
Granted, we went in for lunch on a Sunday and did not realize that the buffet was $30 per person.
Not only is it not worth $30, but it is likely not worth the normal $20 lunch price.
I actually frequent quite a few Chinese buffets all over the country and the only reason this got two stars was because of the people.
The servers are friendly, they are pleasant, and they tend to your needs very well. We did not wait for Place to be cleared, and our water glasses were constantly topped off.
The best parts of the buffet were the sweet-and-sour chicken, the Mongolian beef, and the salad bar.
For being Alaska, the salmon was a wet, soupy mess. You can tell salmon is tremendously overcooked when it is white. That’s what this was
They “crab” on the buffet, but it was sand crab, and it was put through the deep fryer. The shells exploded in the crackers, the meat was almost bone dry, and it was pretty much inedible.
There were, surprisingly, some fresh vegetables on the buffet.
The food was not “bad.” It just was what I would consider “below average.”
Also, the restrooms were filthy. Bordering on disgusting.

The food and staff are good, the cleanliness is good i have never used there bathroom Though parking is good. The food has gotten better tasting through out the year . The variety through out the dinner is good always bringing in fresh food. Pretty pricey but its Alaska! not the best tasting food but definitely decent , and some tasty dishes ! We are seafood lovers and love the crabs here. I like bringing my young kids a good atmosphere for family and one of the only options for buffet in town. Because anchorage has no buffet beside golden corral. I love the options for
Kids here we come here for Sunday dinner.

Orange Chicken was literally cheap chicken patties cut up and drowned in orange chicken goop. We asked for hot. Not hot. On top of it all, fortune cookies were stale and my cookie had no fortune in it. Indeed, this was a very unfortunate meal. Never again.

The waitstaff are kind and will remember you after only a couple of visits, bringing you your drinks as they seat you. The soup is always HOT, and the food is always tasty! Recommended!

First the rates are expensive but could be over looked if the food was great. It was not. The food was old like it has been out all day. The sushi bar was very disappointing. Very stale and not fresh. It was about the worse Chinese buffet we ever went too. It’s like $28 for an adult with only water. If anybody pays that much, they should expect good quality food. I’m glad that we did not get food poisoning

My mom and I used to visit China Lights at least once a month because the price was right, but it’s been years since our last visit. I decided to give it another try, and unfortunately nothing has changed. The food was mostly cold and just didn’t feel fresh, which is exactly what I remember from before. There’s nothing special about the dishes, and I was quickly reminded why I stopped coming here. Disappointing, especially after hoping things might have improved essentially with the price increases.
