It was 1999 when China City opened its doors to the world and let everyone enjoy the delicious American-Chinese cuisine. And within a short period of time, people were raving for the cuisine more than ever. Our locations make sure that you get the best American-Chinese feeling as possible. The first location is on Whidbey Island in Freeland, which boasts a Victorian style building that is surrounded with Asian air, trees and Portuguese Laurels. The second location in Oak Harbor has everything you would need to make yourself at home and relaxed. Our newest location is in Mill Creek, a place to escape the bustle of the shopping center in our beautiful dining area.

China City is a family style restaurant, where you select one large order of food then everyone at the table will serve themselves from the selection ordered. If you need a heat check and want to up the spice you can as well. This place is great for date night or if you are chilling with your friends there is a bar area. The food is great and the price matches the quality. This place is not the cheap Chinese food for under $10, this is well prepared great Chinese cuisine set with an environment that eases your night. Also noted if you are a baller take advantage of the wine glass room and have an exquisite night. Overall if I want Chinese food I go here, five stars.

The atmosphere and staff were very nice but the food was way overpriced for the quality and what you got. Panda Express is better and cheaper than this. The almond chicken was just chicken nuggets with almond gravy. We have been to the China City in Freeland on Whidbey Island multiple times and the food was way better than this. So strange that the food at it’s sister restaurant was much better and more authentic than this.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in the Mill Creek/lynnwood area. I highly recommend their family style meals. They offer it for a party of 2 and up and you will have leftovers for sure. They give you great portions and a great variety of dishes for each family meal style. If you need substitutes for certain dishes, make sure to ask as they do offer that.
Service is 50/50. You for staff who are running around from bar to table and others just standing around and chatting. Management needs to step it up and get everyone working together. It’s obvious who is working hard and who is not.

The best Chinese restaurant around town so far. I recommend getting the salt and pepper wings for appetizers, it’s amazing. The sweet and sour chicken is also delicious, the coating is crispy and the sauce is flavorful. The honey walnut shrimp is really good too.

I ordered take out but atmosphere looked great! The portion for to go was a joke. I think my kids lunch box is bigger than this place’s to go container! Food amount is not good and to be honest the taste was bland.
I was expecting a lot of food for the price and the amount of dishes I got.

Mill Creek Town Center is full of interesting restaurants and this one’s my favorite. The dim atmosphere suits an evening date or family gathering perfectly. I haven’t had a bad entree here either. This restaurant has that rare mix of superior quality and style.

Ordered the Generals chicken. Was supposed to be spicy but wasn’t. My husband ordered the Curry chicken and it was mostly curry sauce. High priced for what you get and you have to order rice separately

The food was amazing and delicious and I tried several dishes, the sweet and sour pork and the seafood chicken. Both have amazing flavor. I also loved the egg flower soup, so delicious.
However the reason for the low rating is because the seafood chicken was described as a mix of chicken, bass, and shrimp in a wine garlic sauce. It came out with a pile of vegetables; and this is not even the thing I’m disappointed in. My seafood chicken didn’t have a single piece of shrimp on it. My friend ordered the same thing and she only got 2 shrimp on hers. They are really skimping on the “expensive” foods. I want what I paid for and what is advertised in your menu.
