Always a great choice to dine here.
The place is clean, spacious and ice cold during the summer time heat.
Service is excellent and everyone is so friendly and accommodating.
Food is delicious and competitively priced.
Drinks are strong and ice cold, replenished quickly.
My steak is prepared just as I like it and really doesn’t need any steak sauce.
My go to spot when I can’t decide what to make for lunch or dinner.

What a complete disaster. I used to go to Chili’s regularly at this location 20 years ago. I went last night and we took the 2 grandkids. $8.00 for a dish of tortilla chips and salsa. A “holiday” margarita that was so sweet and horrible I wanted to send it back, and they wouldn’t take it back. It was like Cherry Kool Aid, but even stronger sugary.
Lets get on to the entree. My fiancee and I had the 3 items big Fajitas platter. I have added photos from the OLD DAYS of how it USED to look.- no way did it look like this last night! Now small bay shrimp (pathetic), the chicken was like rubber, the steak was decent. The sides were an absolute joke. Black beans that were floating in the thick watery syrup that comes out of the can they’re from. 2 tablespoons of cheese. 2 tablepoons of pico de gallo. A tiny dollop of sour cream.About 1/3 cup of spanish rice. A complete JOKE. This they charge $27.00 for, and they say “it’s for two”.Good luck with that.
I had to ask our waiter numerous times for place settings (siverware). Finally at the 3rd request he says “we are running low on forks”. HOW ON EARTH can you run low on forks when it’s only 5:30 in the evening, and the dinner crowd hasn’t even arrived yet. Unforgivable. Our server, though nice, hammered us every 2 minutes while we were having our chips and salsa and drinks to order. I kept telling him “we are going to relax for a while, we will flag you when we are ready to order”. Does he listen?? Of course not. Comes by 4 TIMES asking us if we wanted to order in like 10 minutes.
The Grandboys got the chicken nugget things and those were fine. You can’t mess those up. Look like something that comes out of a bag and is dumped in the deep fryer. Well, at least the kids liked them.
We got home and my fiancee and I (we shared the fajitas), got sick all night and spent it in the bathroom. The oil they did the fajitas in tasted odd. I am calling Escondio Health Dept. tomorrow so they can do a restaurant/kitchen inspection. I’m going to request they examine the oil they use for the fajitas.
So, for a place that I used to frequent every week in the 90’s, I will now never return to. Oh, and to top it all off the two hostesses were amazing as we asked for a booth. They say “i don’t think we have any right now”. I walk over and there are 6 booths vacant & clean on the right side of the restaurant. One gal finally walked over and LOOKED, and came back and said “we can seat you”‘.
I hope the restuarant manger reads this review and takes appropriate action and gets his/her restaurant straightened out. MAYBE he can look at these photos from years back on how the Fajitas are SUPPOSED to look/be served.
What a total waste of $90.00, which is ridiculous in itself for a chcken nuggets platter, and order of fajitas, 2 beers, and a $6 horrible margarita. On top of THAT, they charged $3.00 to the bill for the grandkids playing games on the handheld order/tipping ipad. One would THINK they would tell you your’e going to be charged to use it. They nickel and dime you for every last thing.

We tried the 3 Me menu and had the smash burger and it was good. Food was tasting great and and fresh ingredients you can taste. Well cooked and seasoned. Fries are great too. Drink is included and a starter. Paid less than $30 for 2 people which is unheard of now a days. Escondido Chilis staff are the best. Our drinks were refilled right away and they even offer to go. We would be back with friends and family. I appreciate the big screen TV to watch the games.

This is a great place to go with friends. I love that offer spicy options like the Nashville Hot chicken crispers. Another thing I love is being able to choose 2 or 3 items from a list to customize your plate to your liking. And my favorite beverage is the mango tea which is slightly sweetened.

My best girlfriend and I come to this Chilis for our monthly dinner night. We love our Chilis dinners, I especially love my Chicken Crispers, but tonight was our best night yet! Jesus was our server and he was an absolute blast to have take care of us! Answered all of our questions, had us laughin, and great to talk with. Next time you come to the Esco Chilis, try your best to get Jesus and even if you don’t, thank him for doing a great job. WE <3 ESCO CHILIS!

I was surprised at how fancy this restaurant is, and the wide selection of foods on their menu. They have soups, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and our server was a nice woman. The only issue we had was when we tried to pay on the tablet; that thing is extremely slow and freezes while doing any transaction. Great experience here, though! This place definitely surpassed my expectations.

Good selection of American and Mexican-American food. They really push the alcoholic drinks, though, even away from the Sports Bar. Their enchilada soup is hearty, and chicken dishes are juicy and tender. Waiter(es)s will remember you if you repeat business with them. Overall, a good place to eat for a party of one to five people.
