We created Chicken Shack out of our desire to celebrate two of our favorite food groups, fried chicken and waffles! Our fried chicken is marinated for 24 hours in a buttermilk brine; our yeasted waffles are prepared every day from scratch and allowed to slow rise for 24 hours to give our waffles a light, buttery crunch. We are especially fond of our pecan cinnamon butter, our bourbon infused maple syrup, and our house-made chicken gravy— all three of which are served with our Chicken & Waffle Entree. If you are in the mood for chicken wings, look no further. We are convinced that our three-step process of brining, baking, and frying our wings before tossing them in our house-made sauces means we have the absolute best wings in Northern CA.

The staff here is pretty friendly and there is a nice little bar area in that you can hang out at. But I would say the food, or at least what I ordered, was pretty mediocre. I’d also like to say with a small tip the sandwich with fries and a drink came to just over 22 dollars.

Came for dinner to go. Ordered two 5 piece tenders with a garlic fries each and 8 sauces which cost extra. The front counter gentleman was very polite and helpful and friendly. Ordered a chocolate chip cookie which was good but not great, just different from what I expected, it had a decent chew in the middle but the edges were a bit tough – 4/5. The tenders were good, juicy, crispy, still warm and hot all the way through our meal at home. The garlic fries had great flavor and texture but were greasy – 3.5/5. The sauces I paid extra for were not all there, only got 5 and it wasn’t even one of each of the flavors I asked for. Overall the crew was great and the food was tasty and fresh and hot. I’ll definitely be back.

Chicken Shack, on Eureka Way, is killing it! Well.. they’re not literally killing it but the chicken they’re cooking up is bomb! I used to go there a lot pre Covid but took a break due to the lack of good employees, during Covid. I started back up a couple months ago and discovered that they had some great changes, such as a new breading recipe for their chicken. It is delicious!! It was the first thing I noticed. My absolute favorite menu item: Loaded Buffalo Fries! I get them with all sauce on the side. I recommend getting Crystal, ranch, and honey mustard versus the original menu dressings that come on it. Did all three and it’s magical! The honey mustard gives it the most exquisite flavor on top of the spiciness of the Crystal and the herbaceous flavor of the ranch.

We were traveling through Redding and looking for somewhere that we could get out of the car for a little while and have lunch. We tried several places and they were all closed. Disgruntled we decided to drive until we found something that looked good and and then we pulled into Chicken shack. We had never heard of it before But we’re open minded. I ordered the buffalo fries and my boyfriend ordered naked wings and fries. The female employees were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean and cool. Overall a fantastic experience. There were a lot of things on their menu that sounded really good so I’m sure we will be back next time we come through Redding! Thanks Ladies!
