Traditional French meals in an easygoing locale with a retro vibe & eclectic artwork.

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Chez Marcel, and it was one of the most memorable meals of our trip. The ambiance is warm, authentic, and beautifully Parisian — the kind of place that feels both special and welcoming.
The food? Truly outstanding. I had the duck, the lamb, the leeks, and finished with the millefeuille — and every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The duck was tender and rich, the lamb was melt-in-your-mouth good, the leeks were simple but stunning, and the millefeuille was light, flaky, and the perfect end to the meal.
Service was gracious and attentive without being overbearing. The Romanian woman and British lad were both so kind and helpful. It’s clear that the staff take pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy classic French cuisine done right. Chez Marcel is a gem!

As someone who visits Paris every year, this is hands down my favorite local French bistro. The crowd? Mostly middle aged locals- kind of people who just know where the best food is, which pretty much guarantees it’s a winner.
The owner is an absolute character, and his energy is so infectious you can’t help but leave in a good mood. And the food? No need for fancy descriptions. just perfectly executed, simple, and packed with flavor. Honestly, I hope this place never blows up with tourists. I want to keep it all to myself. Stay hidden, please! Maybe too late..

Beautiful rustic atmosphere and friendly staff. Everything we ate was good. I would suggest a nicer plating for the steak. Prices are normal. With the greetings from the kitchen (in the form of salami), we did not receive bread. Nevertheless, a good experience.

An absolutely outstanding dining experience!! There is a small, intimate interior with tons of decor all over the walls. We ordered escargot and artichokes for appetizers. Both were delicious, especially the escargot, which might be my new favorite food! Who knew snails could be so scrumptious? As unrefined Americans, we only had water at the table, and a random waiter came up to us and said, “No, no, no, we must get you some wine for your meal!” And he proceeded to ask us what we were having for dinner, what we were in the mood for, etc., to find the perfect wine for us. For the main course, we got a lamb fillet with scalloped potatoes. Both were excellent, especially the lamb which was cooked to perfection and tasted so, so good. For all of that too, the price was reasonable. This is a must try in Paris!!

Tasty food and at a reasonable price. I think we paid around €50 per head and that included wine for starters and mains. No dessert. Friendly service too. Wine was a tad overpriced and whilst the food was good, I remember thinking it could be seasoned a bit more, maybe.

Not many people know that my first job was in Michelin star restaurant. I used to love eating in the top restaurants and have done it in many countries. @chezmarcel is my absolute favorite. If you are in Paris, GO there and you will thank me! Nothing fancy there, the best atmosphere, food and drinks are incredible and from the heart. Pierre is a friend and seeing him brings me joy every time. He will become your friend too!

The cuisine is really surprising! The meat is well cooked and the sauce is totally stunning that you will want to lick the plates
But to finish a 5/5 dinner, the desserts is not recommended at all, it ruin a little the happiness of having such a nice meal! Because it’s already made and assemble together after….

It was the first French bistro in my life. I was disappointed with French cuisine. I live in Italy now and Italian food is a winner. But their service is even better than in Italy. They make me feel good with their service and help me with everything perfectly. The snail dish was expensive, but it was the most delicious compared to other places. The duck meat didn’t have enough flavor for me and the beef steak was so overcooked that it was difficult to eat. And I don’t know how Coq Au Vin will appeal to others, but for me it lacked flavor and the chicken was very dry. It‘s like boiling a young chicken over too high a heat for a long time. How about changing the chicken to a larger one and boiling it over a lower heat for a longer time?

When I went in to make a booking after calling repeatedly. I took a cab and went in asked politely in French for table
The guy didn’t even reply and turned away. The other patrons at the bar laughed as though they thought this was funny. I wasn’t impressed. Don’t go
Unless you want an ego and attitude. Really humiliating.

Excellent find. my friend wanted to try this place for the longest time, we arrived at 12 and luckily there were still places available. Its lyonaise cooking. a lot of lard and pork in their cooking. we ordered the risotto, fillet du canard and starter of sliced beetroot. Really delicious. The servers were friendly too!
