This is our favorite wing joint. We haven’t had a bad experience yet. I can only vouch for the wings, fried mushrooms and onion rings. You definitely can’t go wrong. Wings are extra crispy and a perfect amount of sauce.
Only advice I can give is whatever time they tell you your food will be ready, add about 15-20 minutes to that time before your food will be ready.

Dry and over cooked. 1 measley celery stick cut in 3 and 2 small ranch for 30 wings is crazy to me. Keep your money and go to Publix for wings because this store sucks. Also why is Cajun Ranch wet and sweet? Ill tell you why because they also got my order wrong! Very disappointed and I will not return!

The service here at this location is generally quick. The wings were perfectly cooked — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside — and the sauce options that were chosen are always good (highly recommend the garlic parm & honey hot or strawberry hot (extra wet). definitely recommend 🙂

All right, here we go first of all I would like to say thank you to new management of checks grill and wings.As my wife and I was here last night for the first time. The food was better than I expected. So we decided to come the next day to see if the quality of food and service was consistent, And I have to tell you it was. Coming in we were greeted , ordered our food and was given suggestions for combos. Once we received our food they lived up to their quality of food and customer service, Our food looked just like the pictures as advertised and the food was amazing on top of that! Let’s eat!!

OK, so I was looking for some good wings to eat and I happen to go into the spot and it did not disappoint. I’m here to tell you these wings were fried so good and crispy and then the sauce tooped em off! You will see the pictures it was so dang freaking juicy and everything even the dang freaking ranch was good. The only thing I tried this go around was the wings and they were on point. I had the strawberry hot ones and I tried two other ones that I can’t think of the name of them, but I do suggest you give them a try. It’s in a big parking lot. The owner was awesome. I think his name was Jack. A great friendly guy. Ask for him and he’ll make sure you get some of the best wings you’ve ever had.

Frequent Chex in general between this location and Mt. Gallant. Can honestly say I love it. I come on slow days and even the customer appreciation days ($1 wings), ordered online and eat in.. they’ve never messed up my order. Literally. And I always receive great service and fresh food. Really a gem. Only thing I would suggest is them booking with me when they’re ready for window cleaning services and deep cleans of the lobby and restrooms. I really have no complaints and recommend to all.

Always the same guy that takes and delivers my order and it’s always coming out fresh. Food is priced well and I have never had a problem. I would order online before getting there. You never know how many people are actually getting food they are always busy. Good food and good customer service. Couldn’t ask for more on that end. It’s definitely not a sit down kinda place.

Went to Chex 1/7/26. I ordered a number 2 combo. 7 wings & fries. When I went to fix my drink I took sip of the fruit punch & it tasted like mold. When I looked at the drink machine it had black mold all over the nozzles. I will never return to that location on Franklin in Gastonia again!!! I have a video it will not let me post it on here.
