What an unforgettable dinner at Chesapeake’s in Gatlinburg, TN
From the first sip to the last bite, everything was absolute perfection. The meal was a beautiful balance of flavors and comfort—tender, perfectly cooked steak, a golden crab cake with a crisp outside and flaky, flavorful inside, rich creamy sauces, fresh greens, and indulgent sides that tasted like they were made with real care. And the drinks? Refreshing, smooth, and crafted just right—exactly what you want to complement an upscale seafood-and-steak experience.
The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, making it the kind of place you want to linger, savor, and truly enjoy the moment. Every detail felt intentional, from the presentation to the service.
Special shoutout to Jason incredible manager, for running such an exquisite restaurant. His leadership truly shows exceptional service, warm hospitality, and a dining experience that feels both refined and personal. You can tell when a restaurant is guided by someone who genuinely cares, and Jason sets the standard. Also, Bret was amazing with his crafted drinks. A very patient as well as a genuine spark of light we needed!
Chesapeake’s isn’t just a dinner—it’s an experience. Highly recommend if you’re in Gatlinburg and want a meal that feels special from start to finish ✨ ️

WOW!! This was our first meal in Gatlinburg and it was the best welcome to such a wonderful city! First, we had reservations and got a confirmation for the time. I texted back asking for a different time due to traveling delay and to which they accommodated it.
Upon arrival, everyone was so kind, the atmosphere was beautiful and while the place was packed, it was still quiet enough to hold a conversation. When we were seated, our server Mark came and was beyond kind. He answered all of our questions and even took extra time to talk to us and welcome us. Due to the amazing experience, we returned a second night. We had the other Mark (Bartender) for a server. He was just as top notch. I haven’t met such kind people and had such amazing seafood!!

We were staying in Gatlinburg for the entire week of Thanksgiving, so I booked a reservation at Chesapeake’s for our Thanksgiving dinner. One of the best decisions made! Dawson was our server and he was on his game. Very knowledgeable and quick to make recommendations. We chose the crabcake appetizer and it was so good I could’ve licked the plate! No fillers and no breading, just loaded with blue crab meat cooked to perfection! Next, hubby ordered the broiled seafood platter which had another crabcake on it Score! I ordered the fresh sea scallops grilled and they melted in my mouth! Cooked perfectly!!! We ended the meal with the most delectable pumpkin cheesecake that we’ve ever put in our mouth. By far, the best we’ve ever had!!! This was an absolute PERFECT Thanksgiving dinner we’ve had that wasn’t the traditional meal. Do not hesitate to make a reservation, and request Dawson . He’s a trip! He made our Thanksgiving dinner a memorable one. The only drawback, if you can call it one Esther parking. We paid $20 for parking. Its limited in the area and way too far to walk from Old Creek Lodge where we were staying.

We visited Chesapeake’s Raw Bar last night for Valentine’s and were seated at the bar. We started with raw oysters and Oyster Rockefeller, which were beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately, our experience declined after that. Honestly, I didn’t care for the avocado ranch dressing for my salad. When I handed my plate to our waitress I expressed I didn’t care for it and opted not to replace it because I figured I would just eat my entree. I wish that the waitress would have removed that from our bill, but we didn’t make a deal of it.
Our entrée, the broiled seafood platter and lobster mac and cheese were taking a significant amount of time, so we decided to get them to go. We were assured by our waitress that the order was complete and included all the fixings in the bag. When we got home, however, we realized there was no butter, no tartar sauce, no cocktail sauce, and the side order of creamed spinach was missing entirely. Additionally, the portion of the lobster mac and cheese was surprisingly small.
I fully understand that Valentine’s Day is a very busy holiday, but given the caliber of this restaurant and the fact that I regularly frequent the Knoxville locations, I expected a higher level of attention to detail. Chesapeake’s has always set a high standard, which is why this experience was disappointing.

First trip to Gatlinburg and decided to give Chesapeake’s a try. Honestly, my husband was nervous at the beginning, thinking it was a big chain restaurant however the food was fresh and absolutely delicious! The oysters were scrumptious and my favorite. The onion rings were perfectly made! The fish was so yummy too! Magdalah, our waitress, was so super sweet and patient. This restaurant is extremely busy at all times and thus you will need a reservation well in advance (like months)!! Traffic was a nightmare and so we made it just in time. I was seated to keep our reservation while my husband parked the car which was not as simple as we thought but a 25 min later nightmare being on the main strip in Gatlinburg. Magdala was so understanding and allowed me the time to keep our table while also checking on me, keeping me company while waiting on my husband and serving me beverages . Chesapeake’s was well worth it all and I can’t wait to go back!!! Outstanding service and meal!

Great place to visit if you are gluten free- they have many options including some that aren’t listed, such as the fresh crab cakes which they can make without the panko topping and which we enjoyed immensely. They can make things safe for celiacs as well and the manager will come over to discuss and confirm with you what your needs are. It’s handicap accessible with a ramp. It’s close to the main part of town but off of it enough to be quieter. We sat in an aisle but it looked like there was seating that would overlook the river. There’s also a bar. Along with the crab cakes I had the seafood salad which was fresh and delicious.

We came to celebrate at your establishment for our daughter’s 21st birthday and we are so glad we did! From the moment I called to make the reservation, the friendly host, the manager who was so nice and accommodating to our families needs, the amazing food, and last but not least our server was Natalia! Natalia was absolutely phenomenal from beginning to end. She was so patient and kind. Her menu navigation and suggestions were amazing. She made my daughter (the birthday girl) feel so special! I was so nervous about bringing my three year old, not sure if he would sit still for our dining experience. Natalia would talk to him and play with him and it really relieved my stress. She also took the time to bring him to the lobster tank and actually took one out for him to look at. We thought that was so cool. Just wanted to give recognition to your amazing staff especially Natalia for going over and beyond to give us an unforgettable dining experience! We will definitely return and recommend your establishment to others! Thank you! From the Vite Family ❤️

OMG!! Tonight I found the best seafood place in Gatlinburg. It’s fantastic. I had the Steamed Seafood Feast. I had twin lobster tails, clams, oysters, shrimp, mussels, and the best creamed spinach I’ve ever had. I absolutely loved it. Will be back. This would be a great place to spend an Anniversary.

Jonathan was our server and guided us perfectly throughout the evening. We indulged in a massive seafood tower that was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Paired with stunning river views and endless wine and champagne, the experience was unforgettable. I would return to this restaurant a thousand times. Jonathan truly took exceptional care of us, and we had a fabulous time.

Chesapeake’s brings a more refined dining experience to Gatlinburg, with fresh seafood flown in daily and a cozy riverside setting. The broiled seafood platter and fried shrimp are solid picks—generous portions, well-seasoned, and plated with care. The heated patio adds a nice touch, especially in cooler months, and the raw bar is worth a look if you’re into oysters.
Service is generally attentive, though peak hours can feel a bit rushed. Prices lean upscale, but the quality and atmosphere justify it for a special night out. It’s a great choice if you’re looking to step away from the usual tourist fare and enjoy something a little more polished.
