Staying with my brother-in-law and had just flown in from Florida and had a late lunch. So we were looking for a Chinese restaurant in the area. Strictly a takeout restaurant that has a couple of tables in the waiting area. Everything in behind plexiglass.
My wife wasn’t hungry so she ordered just Egg drop soup and an egg roll.
I ordered the King Po Shrimp , slightly spicy with all kinds of vegetables, good. Came with an egg roll and fried rice. I also ordered the WonTon soup which was like water.

These people are so nice. Their food is amazing. I live in oyster bay and I promise you this place is the best around. Since new ownership their food has gotten better. Highly recommend getting sesame chicken.

Not sure of the other reviews. This place was filthy with the previous owners and food was disgusting. I ordered there one time and the ribs looked like they had been sitting in grease for weeks and the chicken was slimy. I threw it out. The new owners cleaned the place up and the food is good. Truth is I have never found an exceptional Chinese Restaurant on Long Island. Since it is the only place in town I can at least get decent food without a long drive.

I get that every Chinese food place makes certain dishes diffently. Somehow, this place screwed up wonton soup? I’ll eat anything but I could finish this soup, it was murky and had an odd taste to it. The boneless spare ribs were like dried out jerkey and didn’t have much flavor to it. The staff was very nice, though.

Chen’s has become our go to Chinese take out for the last few years and for good reason. The hard working owners are always friendly and the quality and portions are always the best. Try the curry chicken, chow fun or the hot and sour soup. All are terrific!

This take-out is under new ownership, and I commend them for updating the store and now accepting credit. The portions were large but I was extremely disappointed in the quality. The old owners always provided excellent quality poultry. My most recent visit, the Sesame chicken was tough and inedible and had to throw it out. The chicken and broccoli was also not all that good. I have not tried most of the menu so I cannot say anything. I did notice that chicken with eggplant is no longer available. We often take out Chinese, and love having a local takeout; however, if Chen does not up its’ game, and use only top quality, we may need to travel further. Please don’t make us do that!

One of the best places to get food in Bayville also this restaurant did more to prevent Corona than any other store in Bayville no other places have set up plastic glass like they have and they provide free hand sanitizer Great food Great service 10 out of 10
