Chennai Hoppers offers exotic Indian dishes with emphasis on cuisine of Tamilandu, the southern state of India where the city of Chennai is located. Chennai, the city is a bustling, friendly metropolis with a food scene to match- from endless tiffin snacks and fresh seafood on the beach to distinct cuisines. Distinguished by its hot and spicy Chettinad curries, Thali, and frothy Madras coffee, the culinary picture of Chennai is too tempting. Moreover, any item you order is served traditionally on a banana leaf, adding an aesthetic touch to the Chennai food!

I had the opportunity of living in Southern India for a few months, and fell in love with the cuisine. This was the closet I could get in America – it brought back so many great memories! The food was amazing!! Absolutely loved everything we ordered, and we cannot wait to go back!! Staff was great and accommodating! Beautiful and clean environment!

Our waitresses name was Bidhi and she was an absolute gem. This was our first time and the service was absolutely top notch. food vice, the portion size is a little small and we personally growing up in Asian countries prefer full on heat and that’s the only reason I’m giving a 4/5 because it had the flavors but not the spice level. However, we will be right back to try the Lamb which is popular and spicy so we will be back!!!

Every once in a while a restaurant completely surprises you with their uniqueness. Chennai Hoppers did that to me. Decided to go with a friend on a weekend lunch double date. Arrived without reservations but the usher was kind enough to seat us outside while we waited for a preferred inside table. He even came by to offer drinks and we were seated within 15-minutes despite being a popular venue.

Enjoy South Indian cuisine here. Fantastic variety, great flavor, good service, satisfying portions, easy parking on site. Vadas were super crisp. Excellent chutney flavors. Naniri juice was super. Fish dishes were very well flavored. Good blend of tamarind in several entrees. Will return.

This place has a good old school charm of the south indian vibe. You’ll find vintage photos of the city of Madras (Chennai). The decor is subtle, love the blend of wall colors and design. It’s a cozy place and you’ll find the dinner tables close to each other.

When for a weekend lunchon. Busy but was seated within 10 minutes. Service was good, atmosphere pretty good although our seats were alittle tight and hot. Food was well seasoned and enjoyable. We went alittle too hard on the fried apps, although they were good I wouldn’t recommend ordering two.

Very friendly service. Fresh food and less oily. Liked the hospitality very much. Taste is good. Quantity of serving is more than enough. One of the best in MD.

This place has the best South Indian restaurant in all of NOVA. The menu is expansive and features disused you really can’t get at your usual Americanized Indian restaurant. You also get a really great bang for buck. The Coconut Fish Fingers and Lamb Chukka are can’t-miss orders.

We tried tomato coriander soup, Paya soup and parottta, veg kurma and Ceylon parotta. We also tried their thate idli. The food was yum. Loved the ambience. One of the waiters was rude but otherwise we loved the hot food and everything
