Absolute stellar Szechuan food. Every single dish we got blew us away. We will 100% be back.

Food was great. Good place to go for Chinese food. Ambience was normal, and service was okay. But the problem is that they have 2 menus- 1. Dine-in menu 2. Takeout menu and the pricing in either menu was different, takeout menu had a higher price and they had charged us based on takeout menu even though we dined in.

Everything was so delicious the fish was fresh ! Soup dumplings were divine and I got wonton with sesame sauce and it wasn’t too spicy but had a nice spice to it!! Would recommend to everyone and also come back !

We got hair in both the rice and the dish. Initially when we got hair in the rice bowl, we just asked the waiter to swap a new one until we got hair again in the dish. The waiter says we are lucky as that has never happened before, which is obviously not true according to other comments.
You can clearly observe the hair has been coated, so it must be introduced during/before cooking.

Have come here multiple times with my friends.
This is a family-run business and all people there are lovely. Food there is good, especially considering its wallet-friendly pricing.
I would rate Chengdu 1 as my everyday go-to place for Chinese food in Jersey City (not saying it’s best in food quality, but instead best overall – price+quality).

Updated: Ordered a few deliveries recently and was surprised to find out some very interesting and tasty dishes! Like the angry pork feet and steamed pork ribs! Super satisfied!
The flavor and portion is okay, but in the dry panned combo there are too much chicken and not as many kinds of meat/veggies. A bit disappointed!

Had a lovely dinner here! The shrimp dumplings soft and tender in a nice sauce. If you like some kick I think you have to ask for extra spice as it was more mild in flavor.
The fish we had for dinner was awesome with an incredible presentation making it easy to eat. Meal was: Crispy Whole fish with pine nuts and garlic sauce.
If you have a large group they do have a large round table with a sweet Lazy Susan.

Cute little restaurant right by our hotel and we had ZERO regrets. It felt very authentic and we enjoyed a variety of dim sum, as well as pork fried rice. Two of our dim sum were filled with a super delicious and sweet egg custard (one a fried corn ball I think and the other a super soft outside). Our 3rd dim sum was a pork soup dumpling, my first! 4th was a fried pork dumpling (ok we got WAY too much but soooooooo good). I can’t believe how richly pork flavored the broth alone was, very good! And of course wash it down with some yummy bubble tea. Would definitely come back!

Ordered Sichuan cabbage but was served a full plate of broccoli stems with skin on. When I raised the issue, the owner not only insisted this was ‘cabbage’ but also spent 10 minutes lecturing me that broccoli is called cabbage. The attitude was extremely rude and aggressive, absolutely shocking. Misleading menu, poor food quality, and hostile service. Would not recommend.

Edit: I went there two times after my previous review (yeah I love Chinese food and this one is the closest to me), they kinda got better. But it’s a gamble, you never know if you get good quality or mediocre quality. For example we had lovely Lamb last time but the duck was for the most part just bones! So go there if you feel lucky on a particular day!
This place used to be my go to Chinese place in the last few years, I used to love the food here. BUT the service has changed, the food is not good anymore, the service is awful and impolite. I would have recommended this place a year ago but for now don go to this place until they change the management!
