First of all, this place is so good! The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the atmosphere is warm. I got the king cake beignets and the shrimp and grits— just WONDERFUL! But our server Michelle really made our experience great. She accommodated me and my friends, was extremely attentive, and even offered to take a group picture for us. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Ruby Slipper!!!

I was seated immediately. It appears as if the owner is very much hands on and front of house to insure quality. I got the smash burger and a side salad. Food came quickly, presentation was beautiful, and I’m pretty sure it’s THE best smash burger I’ve ever found. Also the waitress brought me a to go beverage along with my check. Michelle didn’t even ask she simply provided. She was courteous and kind.

We came as an impromptu breakfast and they sat us quickly with no issue even though it was Mardi Gras weekend. Nadia was a great server (personality 10/10) and brought everything out promptly! And she was very open to swapping out my drink when the first one wasn’t what I was expecting. Overall, a great experience!

Ask for Nadia, she is amazing! She is goes out of her way to make everything extra perfect! And the shrimp and grits are next level! And Bonnie and Clyde even hit this historical Resturant former bank back in the day! Thanks Nadia! Also the other doll that had a beautiful Mardi Gras head piece in her hair! She was so sweet too! Thanks a million! Oh the “pig candy” a must! It’s a staple for us everytime!

What a great find! I was walking around on a Sunday at 10am but couldn’t find food of substance. So glad I found this place! They were open and a bunch of people were enjoying early brunch. The fried green tomatoes were outstanding and the sweet heat chicken over French toast bites were everything I missed about New Orleans. I really enjoyed the ruby colada mocktail also, highly recommend! My server Michelle really went above and beyond to make me happy. She is so sweet! I will definitely be back during my vacation to taste more of this fantastic food!

Only took off one star because of our last visit.
October.1 Had such a great experience from start to end. 5 star experience.Jack is a delight! Attention and service 10/10. He even gave us a little history about the place and town. We definitely decided to come back on our last day which was Friday October.3.
It was much busier but still not too packed inside. We were told to wait to be called for a table for 3. I wanted to ask to have jack again but it was too late we got called.
We had a different server. And this time around it wasn’t such a good experience. He had a bit of a standoffish attitude from the start. The small talk seemed fake as he was just with a straight face no smile so we didn’t know if we should smile laugh or stay serious. This was a complete 180 from our first experience.
At one point one of the cooks came out and started a convo with us while the server was there and his attitude was 1000x better and good energy. He made a joke we laughed and the server was still straight face looked annoyed.
At that point we wanted to leave. We paid cabs and he just stared the whole time while my sister was counting the cash making sure we got it right.
We also didn’t get a receipt. (Jack gave us a receipt to go box and a bag)
With this server we asked for a to go bag and it was a huge box no bag we didn’t even want to ask for one because he would have said something smart back to us.

If we’re ever back in town we will 100% be there Tuesday-Fridays and ask specifically for jack. It was such a pleasure meeting you jack!!! Hope to see you again.

Michelle was wonderful and very attentive to my dietary requests. The Skinny Migas were flavorful and delicious, and the service made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in New Orleans!

As soon as we walked in, the tall African-American man was extremely rude; had an attitude, with no sense of hospitality. I mentioned to sit outside, and right away he said “no, definitely not open” even though the weather was sunny and cool.

He sat us down in our booth and we thought that we wouldn’t see him again, but turned out he was also our waiter. He brought us water and when I asked for a glass without ice, he got upset. Then, he took our order with a very condescending tone, speaking to us like children or idiots. Of course, when we paid, he didn’t say thank you or have a nice day, much less when we left the restaurant. Honestly, we thought his attitude was going to change, but it never did. Don’t know how this man is employed in a restaurant where customer service should be number one.

The food was bland; supposedly the biscuits are made fresh everyday, but ours tasted microwaved. The omelet was supposedly “hearty”, but it was tiny with one chicken sausage link. The fruit cup was unfrozen fruit.

The atmosphere wasn’t enjoyable to say the least since the host and waiter was a very bitter man.

Obviously this man isn’t happy with himself or his job. Sir, we recommend you find another occupation and let diners have a pleasant experience.

We recently came to eat at Ruby Slipper with the understanding that the food would be very high-quality, but the real thing that took the experience above and beyond was the hospitality and service Andy provided. He welcomed us, gave us great conversation and attentive care, and truly made us feel like we were part of the family behind the scenes at Ruby Slipper. We will definitely be coming again—10 out of 10.
