Have been going to Chef for many years because it WAS so great. Great food, great wine, great ambiance. We went there after a 4 yr (or so) absence Saturday and were sorely disappointed. The food was barely mediocre – inedible really – not worth the calories and certainly not worth the prices. We were told the owners had bought the restaurant about 4 years ago. They have succeeded in driving a former 5 star restaurant in the ground. I cannot believe they have lasted 4 years.
