What happened? The food used to be so good. Literally one of the best pizza places in town. Now it has the quality of a frozen pizza… and honestly I’ve had better frozen pizzas. The food was bland as well as dry. My hot hoagie came with one piece of meat. I called to notify them about the quality of my sandwich. They notified me they could have the driver come back and issue me a refund but They refuse to give me a refund because I had taken one bite.My overall experience ———> (very disappointing .)

Massachusetts transplant here- where the BEST pizza known to man comes from (and Connecticut too, if I’m being honest.) I have searched and searched for something that comes close to the quality of pizza in New England. Dark on the bottom but still a little floppy, a little bit of grease from quality cheese, flavorful crust and not overly sweet tomato sauce… Checkerboard literally checks ALL the boxes except one… the seasoned cornmeal on the bottom. Excellent, excellent pizza and anyone that says otherwise knows nothing about pizza.

Drove in from out of state and found a nearby pizza place to deliver. Awesome! Pizza was good. Classic crust is better than any chain pizza I’ve had. Wings- also very good and meaty! Overall we enjoyed! Had a bit of trouble communicating with the delivery driver because he didn’t seem to speak English. But still fast delivery and perfect night-in dinner after driving 10 hours!

My go to Pizza when hosting groups of friends or after a Loons game. Their 20” pizza is enough for 4 to 8 people and comes LOADED with cheese and square cut, perfect for sharing. One thing that really stands out about this place is the dough is fantastic; Fluffy & Crispy! I do find the prices here at a slight premium, but the pizzas do live up to the prices, especially the large and XL. I have only ordered the pizzas from this restaurant and cannot comment on other menu items.
Service is always nice however interior of the building and atmosphere makes me reccomend this as a takeout spot over dine-in but do not let this take away from how great their pizzas are! A hamline-midway local business worth supporting.

The food here was good. I ordered for pickup, it took about 30 minutes for a pizza and breadsticks on a Wednesday evening. The reason I removed a star was because the toppings on the pizza didn’t want to stay on the pizza crust, especially the non-crust edge pieces of the pizza. This made eating the pizza a little difficult. It’s manageable though. I would go back here. The price is great for the amount of food you get.

Don’t listen to anyone leaving bad reviews on the quality of food. They seriously make the best pizza here and whoever is saying anything bad about it obviously has some other issues or maybe a problem with a worker …. I drive 30 minutes away to get this pizza because it’s better than any pizza where I live!!!

The pizza wasn’t bad. What got me is I went into the place and thought it was going to be able to dine in and I couldn’t because all the tables are blocked off plus there was a horrible smell and the place looks really run down and not taken care of.
