Great service, great food, great atmosphere. We ate dinner early so it wasn’t crowded at all. Chips and salsa came automatically and the chips were still warm! The salsa was very tasty and relatively mild, only a slight afterburn. My friend got a couple other salsas from the salsa bar and really went to town on the the hottest one. He had carne asada and loved it. Braver than I, ha ha. I had the pollo a la crema and the fresh mushrooms, juicy chicken, and sour cream sauce was utterly addictive! Tasty and smooth frijoles, everything was just delicious. Big portions in my opinion. Would definitely stop here again and try more dishes.

Took them 20 minutes to get us drinks and another hour and a half to get us our food. And even then, our food was not the correct food we ordered, ice cold, and was absolutely disgusting. Their queso is the same consistency as mashed potatoes. Then it took another 30 minutes to get our tickets to pay. Totaling 2 and a half hours start to finish. Do not waste your time or money on this place.

Something has changed. We are locals and love our local businesses. We have gone to Chavollos for years due to the kind service and good food. However the last few times have been terrible experiences. It took 2 1/2 hours to eat, waiting 20 minutes for water. 45 minutes more for food. We got up to get our own menus, and the waitresses came over and threw them at us at the table. Weird.

Over the last year I’ve eaten here about five times. Every single time it’s been awful. The servers are rude and like a million other reviews on here no one takes drink orders, brings menus, and it takes forever to get genuinely awful food to the table.

The food is okay & staff is friendly! A little pricey. Chips and salsa were the best part. The restaurant decor & seating is cute! Conveniently on the side of the main road driving out of Mesa Verde National Park, so bonus! I’d come back.

Had basic tacos your services can’t even get that right. I left the table to check on someone, and my table was cleared off when i got back. I even mentioned to one of the staff that I’d be right back. Still didn’t listen. Took over 40 min for 3 beef tacos… it wasn’t busy at all. The food was bland had no taste. Only good thing I could say is the chips and salsa were ok. Until you took it all away when i had to go to the bathroom…

Avoid on Mondays. I was in Mancos for work and most places are closed on Mondays. We visited Chovolo’s on 8/31/23 and told that we could take a seat but that it would be 20 minutes before we were served, which seemed reasonable. Service was sporadic to non-existent and we got our food more than an hour and a half after ordering and it was cold. I returned on Monday 8/28/23 and, despite hours posted that they were open until 9:00 PM, we were rudely turned away at at 8:12 by someone yelling at us from the kitchen that they were closed. There were still customers seated and many unbussed tables.

Great little Mexican food just off the main road in town. You’ll find a very welcoming atmosphere and environment. The waiters and bartenders are fantastic here and the food is outstanding try some of the different sauces that they have to choose from – help yourself
