Service was good and the price is right. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and the chicken Kadai, asked for both hot (spicy), whilst the curries were both reasonably tasty they were not spicy nor overly authentic.
The onion bhaji appetiser was very good as was the garlic naan.
I would certainly revisit, but this time knowing I am not going to get an authentic indian curry.

I love Indian Cuisine and decided to stop by for dinner at Charcoal Indian Cuisine. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant and the staff was friendly. I ordered Vegetable samosas and Pakora for appetizers. Both were excellent. For dinner I selected Lamb Madras and Chicken Tandoori, both were hot (temperature) and very tasty with a touch of spicy. I enjoyed the food very much and can’t wait to go back.

The food was fresh and flavorful, the prices were reasonable, and the menu had a lot of great choices. The staff was very helpful and kind. It’s been hard to find good Indian food in Miami, so I’m very happy! I definitely recommend it.

This is my third visit. I had been here in the past as well, when this was Taste Buds of India. Despite being skeptical, I found it to be just as good. My first visit to Charcoal was for their bento box lunch, as they no longer offer lunch buffet due to the pandemic, and the food taste and variety was great — enough to warrant more visits. Since then, I’ve had takeout and dined in.
There was a great promotion for 50% off on Groupon so if you’ve thought about trying this place, what better time than now? We have tried the chicken vindaloo, chicken madras, lamb xacuti, paneer Naan and gulab jamun and everything was great, fresh and flavorful. The portions were decently sized, enough to bring half home. The mango Lassi, while somewhat bitter in other Indian locales, was sweet and tasty.
The staff is friendly and attentive and the chef is very talented. I liked the fact that they got the heat level just right, whereas other places make their food too mild or flavorless. They also own the new Indian restaurant in Miami Beach, named Akash. I have tried that place too and highly recommend either location. We’ll definitely be back, especially now that we have several Groupons!

Best Indian in Miami! I’ve been going to the Miami Beach location (same owners- Akash) for a long time. I recently moved to the Gables and started coming to Charcoal. The food is so fresh, taste is amazing, everything is very authentic and staff is extremely friendly. I would highly highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try! A+ You won’t be disappointed.

Great food. Bursting with taste. The meat was very tender and flavorful in the roghan joosh and both tje butter chicken and ghorma were outstanding. The place is bright and the spacing between tables is generous. The only thing that may have made the experience even better would have been more flexibility to substitute out carb heavy items for lower carb ones ( i.e change veggies for rice etc) still, this is a first rate, no frills, indian cuisine restaurant. I’ll be going back.

Naan seems to be frozen and was warmed up.
Chicken gosh curry was really bad . No flavor and had a very strong taste that I never tasted before. Probably tomato purée .
Charcoal chicken was like rubber , no flavor and some of it wasn’t cooked properly.
I will never order from here again .

Raj provided friendly and attentive service. We started with an order of papadum. it was delicious and slightly spicy. great. We ordered butter chicken and lamb masala, with cheese naan and garlic naan. Everything was perfect. the rice was perfect and Raj kept checking in on us. quick, friendly and delicious.
