Cheap & fast & tasty! Strip mall Chinese food made to order. Was still hot when I got it home 15 minutes later. Ordered chicken chop suey, Szechuan chicken, and pork fried rice. All very tasty.

This the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. We stopped here due to positive reviews and close to the highway on our drive to the keys. It started off with the order taker. If she could have growled at me, I think she would have. General Chicken, mostly dough with a sickly sweet sauce. All other dishes flavorless. The worst is the Chow Fun. We lived on both coasts where this dish is a staple. We live in the Midwest and no restaurants make this dish. We excitedly bought two portions and could not wait. What a disappointment. Hardly any meat. I found one piece of onion and one pea pod. Even worse it should be wide rice noodles but it seemed they used egg noodles from the Publix next door . And once again absolutely no flavor. We threw it all away. Skip it folks

Chan’s Chinese food does a service. Their lunch special(11am-3pm) is incredible. They offer a nice selection of generously portioned entrees with a drink included. The food is wonderfully tasty, and the customer service is great and fast. If you are craving Chinese cuisine for lunch or dinner, I highly recommend them. Be sure and call in first, to order.
Orange chicken lunch special is in my pictures.

I had food from here before and I never had any problems with this place, and I usually leave good reviews for restaurants I go to. I’m not trying to seem like a brat when I write this but oh my goodness, I can’t believe what I got. My family ordered orange chicken for me and picked it up because I’m having pregnancy cravings and I was so happy I began eating right away, half way through eating I saw somethings little odd and I freaked out but I’d decided to calm down a check, so I take what I saw out and clean it a bit to get a better look at it, I had found a freaking worm in my food! Now I know accidents can happen, I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and think ” Maybe it fell in when they were packing the food” but it would be alive if that was the case, and it would have been found in-between the layers of my food (between two pieces of chicken) I’m so lucky it didn’t stick to the one I had on my fork. I feel sick after finding it and have already eaten more than half, I was so hungry when I got it I can’t even bring myself to throw up. I threw the rest of it away, that just completely ruined my appetite (it looks like it was just an inch work but it’s still a worm in a place it shouldn’t be nonetheless) Don’t they check the food while making and packing it? It’s definitely the pregnancy hormones getting the better of me but I’m literally crying right now!

Family run business with no nonsense service and decor, but with outstanding food that is always served in generous portions. I pick up meals after work and drive across town and the food is still fresh and warm when ready to eat.

The service was great however, I had the veggie lo mein and spring rolls. I watched the young lady take the frozen spring rolls out of the freezer and drop them directly into the hot grease yum….not. Thank goodness they were cooked thoroughly but were not very tasty. The lo mein was bland and the portion was not what I’m used to for the price.

If you’re trying to go here for the lunch menu, just make sure it’s not a holiday since they’re not going to honor it. And no, it’s not written anywhere on their menu either. Poor service and attitude.

Moved to Gainesville a little over a year ago and I tried numerous Chinese places that all were mediocre to simply bad. Finally, Chan’s delivered. Flavors were good, sweet dishes had a nice subtle sweetness and spicy dishes had enough spice without overpowering the flavor of the dish itself, actually enhancing it. Portion size was very good. Only issue was it’s a tad on the pricier side and I couldn’t find a good menu anywhere so here’s one. The bar was basically on the floor, but Chan’s was the best to date in Gainesville. Definite recommend.
