Best Tortas Ahogadas , Guadalajara style Mexico authentic we drove down from Sb to MONTEBELLO. 98 miles to get there. And were happily surprised. Also taco dorados great …Also took some Tortas ahogadas home…will be going often.

Decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely very spicy sauce. I ordered the one with salsa and Chile on the side. The meat and salsa was too salty for me. Potato tacos were better.

These tortas are so good! My family is Mexican so these tortas remind them of home. I got a torta hogada with out chile. From the bread to the sauce it’s all really good. We also had jericallas for dessert and they were really good. I highly recommend for a good torta!

Tried this place as our usual was closed and we had a craving for a torta ahogada. First of all service was great. Wife, son and I had the torta ahogada. My daughter had the tacos. NONE of us enjoyed our food. It might be good to some people but not us. Neither the meat nor the broth had any flavor. The bread was way to hard and chewy. I suggest you try El Guero on Whittier and Ford. I guarantee you wont be back to chago. We wont.

Today was my first time trying Chago ahogadas. I had a carnitas torta ahogada and a taco ahogado de papa con carnitas. Everything was delicious, just as good if not better than i remember the tortas and tacos ahogados from guadalajara. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner of the place, he is very police and attentive to all customers.

I like this place a lot!! the taste of the tortas are so alike to the tortas from Guadalajara , and the hard tacos are the best!! .. I definitely recommend this place to go with friends or family . Sometimes the wait it’s a little bit long but it’s definitely worth it.

This place is soooooo delicious! I am Peruvian but my wife is a pure blood Mexican that grew up in Guadalajara and she rates this place a 9/10 compared to the tortas over there in Guadalajara. The chili is spicy but adds such great flavor, and the sauce is AMAZING! You will not regret trying this place out.

I only ever come to eat here when my parents force me and I don’t think there’s any other way to get me to eat here. The food is mid, you get tired of eating your meal after a few bites and basically have to force it down. The inside is disgusting, there were termites on the windows and it honeslty felt run dow. They have a celebrity wall plastered and you’d think that make it better but nope. It honeslty makes it worse. I advice to stay away from this place and to not eat here

The house specialty is the tortas ahogadas but that day I decided to eat potato tacos. They are very good, large and well prepared. the horchata water is amazing. I recommend the place.
