Found this spot while running around in the Bronx. Very friendly upon walking in. Food was good but the oxtail gravy was too salty.
The baked chicken was pretty good.
Of course I had to have the passion fruit juice and it was perfection! The mango juice was ok.

If I could give less than one star I would. I’ve been going to this restaurant for almost a year now because I work at the Tmobile on dyckman and I’ve even recommended the place to friends I’ve spent countless of money at this restaurant and the food is good. The service hasn’t been the worst. I rarely ever have even used their bathroom and one of the males at the restaurant was waiting for me right outside the door I find that so disrespectful and poor etiquette for a consistent customer. I’ll not be returning to this location

Very disappointed. The breakfast that I ordered today was super dry, as if it was reheated in an oven. It was hard to chew. The drink morir soñando tasted bad.

I ordered flautas at Emilio’s and had one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
First off, none of the employees spoke English, which made ordering incredibly difficult. I tried pointing to the menu, but I still left the counter feeling confused and unsure if they even got my order right.
Then came the overcharge. The price I was charged was more than what was listed. When I asked about it, no one could explain the charge. I got no receipt and no answer—just a blank stare and a dismissive attitude.
When I finally got the food, it looked and tasted old and reheated. The flautas were cold and rubbery in some spots, hard in others. The meat inside was dry and flavorless. The rice and beans were thrown together and barely edible. Everything looked like it had been sitting out for hours.
I went back and calmly asked for a refund or at least an explanation. I was told, “No refund,” and waved off like I was the problem. No apology. No accountability. Nothing.
This isn’t just bad service—it felt like a scam. Overcharged, given low-quality food, and then completely dismissed when I tried to speak up. I’ve eaten at plenty of local spots and I’m not picky, but this place has no respect for its customers.
Do yourself a favor and skip Emilio’s. It was my first and definitely last time. I’d give zero stars if I could.

I ordered Oxtail last Saturday and it was super tasty wonderful seasoning and meaty pieces with tons of rice and rich red beans the waitress was friendly and so generous in giving me the pieces I asked for of oxtail and so much delicious sauce. I was really grateful and enjoyed my meal thoroughly. I plan on getting more this Saturday

Passed this spot many times, thought it was a Mexican restaurant, they have a decent but limited Dominican menu. Food was good, prices are reasonable and the service was very good. I’ll go back again.

Honestly their food was great but I have ordered three times from here pass two-three weeks and the food is not great.. I ordered chicharrón de pescado and before it used to be really tasty and crispy and this time it was soggy and tasteless.. then the other day I ordered chicharrón de pollo with bone which usually comes like fried chicken chunks without being breaded and the other day they sent it to me breaded and it was nasty and soggy .. then today I order a lunch of pernil with Moro and the pernil smells like the pork was just cut up and cooked.. you can tell when the meat is cleaned right and they did not clean this pernil prior to cooking. They also put in some maduros that are hard which suck. Think I’m just going to stop eating here, they must’ve changed cooks and you can tell.

I can only say two things: the best chicken noodle soup I’ve ever had. So flavorful! And when I pulled a beer out of the frig and brought it to the counter, they were thrilled and joyous for me. It was the most unexpected and wonderful burst of enthusiasm! Great lunch.
