I called in an order, in which the order taker didn’t get my name in their rush to end the call. So, when I went in, they didn’t know what my order was. I would think it would have been intuitive, to simply look at call in orders taken, since orders are particular, and go about it that way. I told the situation to my in-laws, and heard from them that it’s the new young hires that have no phone skills, despite them being on their personal phones when customers walk ins. The older woman who found my order was defensive about my order being misplaced, she talked at me without eye contact, despite me not yelling or making a scene, ( lord knows there is too much of that going on these days) and, I ended up with cold food. She even admitted to the fact that the youngsters have to work on their order taking skills. One would think they would remake the order, since I spent 20 minutes up there with them sorting it out, and it was getting colder as time passed. Carters was my go to when I visit Adel, the visit was not complete without some soft fried gizzards, but this last visit makes Popeye’s look more appealing, even though they don’t serve gizzards.

I have to say i been going to Carter’s for over 15 years. Before i would rate above a 5 ,The food was the bomb!! The best i ever had , untill this last year it’s been horrible. They batter the chicken to much. It’s hard and very dry. I have say as of last week i quit going untill they can find a better cook. ! Also just a side note. .the owners are now the son, who doesn’t care about the restaurant like his mom and dad did. Big big change !

The food is so delicious. Most people know that chicken breast are mostly dry. But not here , you bit down into the meat and the juices just roll out of the meat. All of their food is great. I recommend you try this place you will always go back.

Horrible communication in drive thru. The chicken thighs were not done. The macaroni tasted and smelled like chemicals could not even eat it almost threw up after my first bite. The battered fries had raw potatoes in the center I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody horrible service horrible food. I had to order some food from somewhere else after I went here it was just that bad I could not even eat it.

We got there around 5:15. They were asking everyone to pull to the side and wait. We waited for 30 minutes. Finally they brought it out. The food was lukewarm. The fries, the chic livers, chicken, bread all was warm. You would think having to wait all that long everything would be hot.

The food was great as usual. The service was extremely slow (like wait over 30 minutes from start to finish) and it really needs some cleaning up and updates to the outside area, but I didn’t go inside. First time I have been to Carter’s in years!

Food is awesome. Last food score was 100! It is a small place so only a couple of sets of people can done in at the time, but this place booms with business. People know where the foods at! If you buy the fried chicken which is kinda their thing it’s pretty fast service, but ordering their seafood, etc takes a long time to get because they cook it fresh. Their chilli and slaw dogs are out of this world and the burgers ain’t bad either.
