In July of 2015 we opened another family business in the Southside Business District. Carl felt the need for those who didn’t want to wait in long lines and who wanted to pay with credit or debit cards. This part of town is where people go for frozen deserts. Like the six nearby bars who draw traffic collectively, so would another ice cream shop draw more customers for both shops. There has been three ice cream shops along this road for years ( the old DQ, Frostbite / D & S, Belts and King Cone, when Frostbite went out of business we arrived. We brought more selections, accepted credit cards and 20 flavors of popcorn. We hope you try our custom ice cream sandwiches, real cheesecake and our famous FOOT HIGH FLURRIES.

Soft serve is 11/10! My husband is lactose intolerant and hadn’t had soft serve since his undergrad days at Point over a decade ago. The employee was great – friendly and excellent service! (He’s a Bears fan, so even though we’re from Green Bay, we loved him anyways! )You have three new customers for life.

Wanted some dessert while in Point. Found this place on google maps and decided to stop. It’s on a corner and has a small parking lot. Alot of ice cream combination to choose from. The hubby got a banana split and I did a number 6 (hot fudge, mini marshmallows, and crush grams). If we lived closed by we would definitely try out the other combinations. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

I love the wide variety and creative combos they come up with.
I especially love they use home made and local products.
If your not feeling like a heavy ice cream try the pineapple whip float. (Pictured)
This picture is the death by cheesecake and so far is one of my top favorites… cheesecake with hot fudge fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream.

My parents’ in-laws got popcorns here, so I tried too. It was not too sweet or salty to me. Price was okay for the taste and amount of popcorn. The good thing is that this place accepts credit cards.

Just had a small ice cream cone and it is twice as small as the last time I was there. He would be considered a baby cone at almost every other ice cream place.
High quality soft serve ice cream as well as popcorn and a lot of other treats. We have been going to belts since it opened. Carl D’s offers a great alternative and I think better ice cream. If you have not tried it it’s worth the one block trip and the lines are usually much shorter.

Love this place! I’m not up on all the drama between them and Belts but I much prefer Carl D’s. They take credit cards, their mix-ins taste more high quality, their ice cream is low fat and has something in it to help break down lactose so its good for people who are lactose intolerant, but it’s still delicious, and all the employees I’ve met there have been super nice!

They’re lactose free by default, and incredibly delicious! I recently have started suspecting I may be lactose intolerant and am trying to avoid dairy, and discovering this place has all lactose free ice cream was so nice 🙂 it’s so hard for many people with dietary restrictions to find foods that they’re able to eat, and places like Carl D’s are so necessary and important. 10/10!

First time there…got lucky with a close parking space. Ordered a small chocolate cone, which didn’t feel small. Lol also ordered a small strawberry, brownie, and Oreo flurry. Very tasty, but i wish the mix-ins went further to the bottom of the treat. I will definitely go back to try some soup or popcorn another time.
Update: still amazing!! Raspberry Dole Whip with hot fudge and brownies is to die for!!
