Reviews
I ordered a margarita which was phenomenal and the stromboli.
I gotta say that was the best stromboli I’ve ever had…. It’s even great the next day! I will definitely be back!
– Stone-Oven Pizza with ham, sausage, onion, pineapple, and banana peppers: The pizza was delicious.
The dough was a great base and the parmesan cheese compliments it well. It was tough, but not in a bad way. It was still plenty soft on the inside and a pleasant enough texture.
The sauce was fairly normal, but accented well.
Their cheese is VERY stringy, but a good flavor. A lot of these Italian restaurants don’t seem to put cheese on top to “glue” the toppings in place and Angela’s is no exception. The toppings were huge and generous, but rolling everywhere because there was nothing to hold it in place.
Toppings were large and generous. I often pick pineapple to test the toppings to the limit. The pineapple was not well drained, but the crust was rugged enough to take it without getting to soggy. At the end, it was starting to get soggy, though. Might be a concern if you are taking it home.
– Garlic Cheese Bread: Again, the cheese was VERY stringy, but tasty. The cheese was also a lot more generous on the bread than the pizza. If you like cheese, you’ll love it. I like balance, so it was not my preference. Still good garlic bread, though. The garlic was about right.
– Service: We were figuring out what to order, which took 5 minutes. After that, we waited 10 minutes to actually have our order taken. The wait for the food after that was about what you’d expect for pizza, though. It was a Friday night, but it was slow this Friday night.
I try to remain unnoticed when taking pictures, especially of the menu. It gives it away that I am a local guide. However, I think I was noticed. I was given a paper copy of the menu to take home. That is why I have two different menus pictured. Choose which version you’d like to reference. HA HA!
– Atmosphere: Very charming Italian artwork and lighting. Cheerful and bright colors. The seating consist of benches without cushioning, but not too uncomfortable. It was clean and maintained well. The kitchen is open to view and that lends itself to transparency as well as waitresses seeing the customers better (though we were still waiting a bit).
I would recommend this place overall. My friend visiting with me has been there several other times and generally likes it (we were there at his recommendation).
Visited Friday 5-6pm and it was slow.
