Updated review: grabbed a strawberry tres leches to celebrate some good news. It’s my new favorite in town – so moist and packed with strawberry flavor.
Original review, Jan 2026: Tried Caribeños for the first time tonight and will definitely be back for more. Flavorful meat, delicous sides.

The portions can easily feed two, and was one of the best sandwiches we’ve had in San Angelo, especially at this price point. The value is outrageously good. While we only tried a single sandwich here (the tripleta), we were sold as a staple in our to-go rotation.

Something San Angelo has needed for a while. Nothing like this is found around here. I got several items based on Chef Yojans suggestions and all of it was spectacular. The cubano is the best I’ve ever had. The Culeta Kankan is unlike any pork chop I’ve had and I loved it. It’s huge! The apps are all good also. The beef stuffed potato ball is my favorite. The maduros are a favorite of mine and it eats like a dessert for me. But the real deal sweet ending lies in the strawberry tres leches they have. Great price for portions like this with this kind of authenticity. Super kind owners as well. Say hello to Marla and Yojan. So glad we have this truck here now with this cuisine!

If you’re craving authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, Caribeños is the place to go! Hands down, the best Puerto Rican food in town. Everything I ordered was a flavor-packed masterpiece.
I tried the pernil with mofongo and the chuleta can can with arroz mamposteao, and wow — it was incredible. The mofongo had the perfect texture, just the right balance of softness and crunch, and the flavors were spot on. The pernil was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. As for the chuleta can can, it was crispy, savory, and absolutely satisfying. The arroz mamposteao was the cherry on top, with its bold, well-seasoned flavor.
Every bite transported me back to the Caribbean, my home PuertoRico. Caribeños is a must-visit for foodies who love exploring vibrant, authentic tastes. 10/10 — I’ll definitely be back!

Ordered plate (arroz with gandules, Mac salad, pernil ) and it was delicious. It’s good to see other Latin food ( Puerto Rican cuisine) options in a predominantly Tex Mex town.

Tastes just like when I visited Puerto Rico. Got the saddleback pork, mofongo as a side, then a beef cheese empanada. Everything was good and will come here again very soon.
