Great Frog Legs appetizer… The fish was so delicious. This place is a gem. What a total surprise to get off the highway and have broiled flounder and tilapia cooked to perfection. While traveling, you never know what you’re going to get. We read previous reviews and decided to give the Captain a shot. We are glad we did. The food was flavorful, hot, and fresh. The portions were perfect size. Service was fast and courteous. The restaurant was clean and well kept. Everyone was friendly, and we left feeling satiated and happy. The calamari is light and crunchy… no heavy oil. The fish (we had salmon and mahi) was perfectly cooked and flakey. We also had scallops and shrimp, which are often hit or miss. They were perfectly seasoned and the right texture (neither under or over cooked). You must try the pineapple mandarin orange cake … a perfect finish.

This is a wonderful place to eat! Southern cooking all the way. Who would think at an exit off I95 in Santee, S.C. there would be a nice comfort food eatery. Well if you’re on your way North or South and see the exit to Santee, and it’s dinner time… take the exit and go to Captain’s Quarters… be sure to call ahead for reservations, you’ll need one! Get the cheesy, smoothest, buttery grits with grilled shrimp I’ve ever tasted, the calamari was cooked perfectly. I asked my server for a Manhattan on the rocks, and gave her a specific list of ingredients and I got my perfect Manhattan! I happened to stumble upon this place when I checked in to the Marriott across the street, and asked about a decent place to eat. Lucky me!

We ate here when we stopped for the night on our way to Florida and our meals were superb! We had a Pineapple Teriyaki Salmon special, lasagna and steak. Excellent food and service. We also had a service dog that was nicely accommodated.

Based on all of the previous glowing reviews, we simply had to try this place, which is conveniently located next door to the Best Western Deluxe – needless to say, don’t let the decor which seems frozen in time give you any pause; every single item we ordered was absolutely delicious! Perfect temperatures and seasonings down to the sides + complimentary bread! We opted for the specials (NY Strip and Pork Chops…as well as the Double Chocolate Almond Cake made by the owner) and ultimately ate ourselves to blissful ruin. Top it all off with wonderful service and the fact it’s right off of the highway – and you’ve got a little gem in Santee for those who frequent the area or are simply passing through!

I’ve always passed this exit by going to another restaurant. This time I was forced to come, and I am glad I was forced! Really nice atmosphere. The wait staff were great and so was the food. Ms. Lisa was our waitress and she is a gem(treat her right Captains Quarters)! The other restaurant has lost my business but Captain’s Quarters gained mine!

Decent meal. My husband enjoyed the meatballs and pasta. I had salmon which was well cooked. The best thing is that it is right next door to the Best Western motel and, after 10 hours of driving, being able to walk to dinner was a pleasure. Our waitress was lovely and the service was excellent.
