Surprisingly amazing seafood place on a pit stop along I-95 in Santee SC. The dishes were fresh, warm, and tasty. Our server Zack was attentive and quick. Overall we were very satisfied.

This little gem was recommended to us by the Hampton Inn across the street. The menu was diverse and the service excellent. Had a combo plate with the Ribeye and Popcorn Shrimp. This isn’t your Red Lobster Diced Popcorn Shrimp but just has the tails removed and was the least impressive thing we ate. Everything else was delicious, really recommend the Sweet Potatoes, Coleslaw, and Ribeye.

My family had dinner here as we stopped for the night on a road trip. I have no idea how it compares to other restaurants in the area. Overall, it was a decent dinner but not a place I would brag about.

The server was attentive and friendly. The food was ok. My blackened jumbo shrimp was fine. My wife thought the fried oysters had a bit too much breading but the portion size was good. My kids enjoyed their spaghetti & meatball and chicken tenders & fries. The platter of chicken tenders was surprisingly large.

The dining area is fairly small and has a combination of nautical and golf themes. While it hasn’t been updated in decades, it had a cozy feel.

We visited this restaurant while staying across the street at the Fairfield Marriott. We’ve been heading south after leaving the Maine coast. As you can imagine, we are surrounded by great seafood up in Maine. We had great meals at Capt Quarters. I had the freshest scallops since leaving Maine! Hubby had salmon and said it was very good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. All in all, a very nice evening!

My husband and I had a delicious Cobb salad tonight at Captain’s Quarters Restaurant in Santee, SC. The most delicious seasoned warm breast of chicken on top of the salad with fresh greens, avocado and all the other fabulous ingredients . I highly recommend this salad. It was outstanding. Isabelle was our server tonight and she was exceptional. She was very attentive, answered all of our questions and she couldn’t have been better. Thank you Isabelle.

Dining at Captain’s Quarters is definitely a local hangout and seems to do a solid business. My server Lisa got me set up with a beer while I decided on dinner. I went for a cup or the clam chowder and the fried seafood platter. The chowder was OK, not very thick but a decent amount of clams. The seafood platter is huge with two slabs of haddock and a good amount of shrimp and oysters. The breading used is light and doesn’t overpower the seafood. Overall the dish is good and well worth the cost. Overall good food and service.

For those of you traveling I-95 or live in the area, Exit 98 in SC – Santee has a great family owned restaurant called Captain’s Quarters. The meal was excellent and the service outstanding! I had the shrimp scampi over grits with a wedge salad. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the grits were true southern grits. Wedge salad was just as excellent. Service was incredibly attentive without imposing. Prices are very reasonable for both the food and wine (wine list was pleasantly surprising and very reasonable. I only wish that I either lived in the area or traveled through the area more often! Exit 98 has brand new hotels from all of the top brands. So stop there and enjoy some incredible food and hospitality!

I had the prime rib and my celiac wife had the salmon, baked potato and a salad, they did a great job ensuring her meal was gluten free and prepared in a gluten free, clean area. She had a salad with Italian dressing, then grilled salmon with a baked potato. I had prime rib dinner with a loaded potato and their home made cake for dessert… The prime rib was good but could have been warmer, the cake was also good but a bit dry, it could have been more moist so I would say it was just okay. The other salmon dinner had scallops and loaded potato, it was very good, the third salmon dinner came with broccoli and it was very good as well. The meal cost more in our case due to the wine we bought.
Note: you are allowed to bring your own wine…. There is a $3:00 corking fee.
