We go here quite often in the summer. We live near Chicago but spend many weekends in Ottawa for the river and friends. I actually dream about the Buffalo chicken dip at captains cove during the drive down. It’s often our first stop after we drop the dogs at the boat. It is the best BCD I’ve ever had. Sometimes it’s sold out by the time we get there, it’s THAT good! They have great deals on drinks and the rest of the menu is really yummy. The bartenders are awesome, we have ended up getting to know the family that owns the place and they’re all so kind and love being able to serve delicious food and beverages to their friends and customers. We truly love captains cove and look forward to many more years of great buff chicken dip and giggles!

Looks are deceiving but park your bike or vehicle of choice and go inside you’ll dig this place. All the food around us looked great. The chicken Philly was top notch the michelada was rock-n-roll good my girls pina colada was awesome. The vibe inside is super cool . I dig this place. Sit on the patio and overlook the River what a great spot!!!!! Tavern/ cafe is the middle door up the stairs. Just what we were looking for!! Something on the river w a view!! Sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed a terrific breeze that helped mitigate the warmth of the day. Enjoyed an unrushed meal w my daughter as we watched boats come in and out. Definitely the areas best kept secret.

Stopped in for lunch, party of 4. There were 3 waitresses and a hostess on staff and place was not very busy. First we were given just one menu for all of us and had to get up and get our own so everyone could see one .We were able to get 1 drink and a sandwich then was basically ignored by waitresses while hostess just stood there playing with her hair. Had to keep going to the bar for refills and drinks, had to then bring our dishes up to the bar to clear the table ourselves. Think they would have got the hint, but they didn’t. Food was decent, but nothing special. Will likely not be returning.
